Ryane Clowe scored his first goal of the year in the Devils' 3-2 shootout loss to the Maple Leafs Sunday. Clowe has suited up for 15 games this season so it took a little longer for him to find the back of the net than his fantasy owners had hoped. Adam Henrique also added a power play tally for New Jersey in the loss.

Ryane Clowe recorded an assist in New Jersey's 1-0 victory over Dallas. Clowe also picked up an assist in Tuesday's contest. He missed more than two months due to a concussion, but he's worth keeping an eye on as he puts that further behind him.

"I just finished my hit on the forecheck and [Carkner] didn't like it, I guess. . He was trying to stand up for a teammate. The hit was clean and the ref told me the hit was clean." Clowe has an assist and 10 penalty minutes in eight games this season.

Devils forward Ryane Clowe played his first game Friday night since suffering a concussion Oct. 13 and didn't score any points. But he had four hits and a blocked shot in the Devils' 2-1 shootout loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets. "I felt good," Clowe said. "Obviously the first couple of shifts were on adrenalin and excitement. After the first shift I didn't know if my legs were going to seize up. I was sitting on the bench. Lucky I didn't get out there for another 10 minutes, so I had time to recover. In the first period I felt like I missed 30 games, but in the second I felt really good. I started to have a little bit of jump." Coach Pete DeBoer on Clowe: "I thought he was one of our best forwards. I thought he gave us some good energy and he was physical. He did a great job." Clowe said he isn't sure if he'll play against the Islanders tonight because of the back-to-back games.

It was thought that he might play Saturday with the injury to Damien Brunner but that was not to be. "I don't really get the feeling that's how they do things around here," said Clowe. "If they've got a plan in place for me - I'm not sure, like I said, when they want me to come back - it feels like they're sticking to it. They've been pretty patient with me through this whole thing, so an injury here or there or a loss, I don't think they're going to push any [panic] buttons." Stay tuned.

It appears that Ryane Clowe won't play for the the New Jersey Devils against the Washington Capitals on Saturday. He's still dealing with concussion symptoms. It sounded like he was considering playing because Damien Brunner is sidelined. Instead, it appears that he isn't rushing things.
