Regin signed a one-year contract with Jokerit of the KHL on Monday, the Rockford Register Star reports. Regin will continue to play for AHL Rockford through the end of their playoff run, but he'll play next season in Europe in what will probably represent a step up in the quality of competition. The 29-year-old is still hopeful of eventually regaining a regular role in the NHL, where he's accrued 243 career games, including four for the Blackhawks earlier in 2014-15.

Regin was reassigned to AHL Rockford on Saturday, Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. With Daniel Carcillo (knee) set to return to the lineup for Sunday's game, Regin would have been forced to serve as a healthy scratch had he stuck around with the Blackhawks. Instead, he'll receive the chance to play more regularly in the minors and will be at the top of the list if an injury at forward forces the Blackhawks to add another player their 23-man roster.

The Blackhawks recalled Regin from AHL Rockford on Thursday, Mark Lazerus of The Chicago Sun-Times reports. Regin did not break camp with the Blackhawks despite playing exclusively at the NHL level the last five years, but he earned a return trip to the top level by tallying four goals and six assists in 11 games with Rockford. With both Patrick Sharp and Daniel Carcillo sidelined, Regin will likely slot in somewhere on the Blackhawks' fourth line.

Regin was assigned to AHL Rockford on Sunday, Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune reports. The seven-year veteran only managed four goals and seven assists in 61 games with the Islanders and Blackhawks last season. He could see time in the NHL if Chicago suffers some injuries but he won't have a big fantasy impact, even in deeper leagues.

Regin was waived by the Blackhawks on Saturday, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports. The signing of Daniel Carcillo seemed to be the writing on the wall for Regin, who appeared in 61 regular season games last season between the Islanders and Blackhawks. His experience may be enough for some other team to take a chance on him as a fourth-liner.

Peter Regin hopes to play a bigger role in 2014-15 than he had after being acquired by Chicago in February. Regin signed a one-year, $650,000 contract with the Blackhawks. "It's up to me that prove that I belong in the lineup every night," Regin said. "That's kind of all I've been asking is to get a shot and I think with a full season it's going to benefit my chances." He had four goals and 11 points in 61 games last season.

The Chicago Blackhawks have re-signed Peter Regin to a one-year/$650,000 contract. Regin was acquired from the Islanders in February and was mostly a depth player, especially during the playoffs. He played 61 regular season games in the NHL last season, scoring four and adding seven assists. He could have a bigger role in 2014-15 as he has a very friendly salary cap hit and the Blackhawks could be up against the cap.

Peter Regin isn't sure if he factors into the Blackhawks' future plans. Chicago acquired Regin from the Ottawa Senators, but didn't use him much during the playoffs. He's scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. For what it's worth, Regin would like to re-sign with Chicago.

Peter Regin could get back into Chicago's lineup for Game 6. It's being speculated that the Blackhawks will scratch Kris Versteeg, so Regin or Jeremy Morin may get the nod for Friday's game instead. Regin has appeared in five games this postseason, but he hasn't dressed since Game 4 against Los Angeles.

The Blackhawks will likely scratch Peter Regin for Game 3 Saturday night against the Kings to create an active roster spot for Andrew Shaw. Shaw practiced with Kris Versteeg and Brandon Saad in practice on Friday, while Regin did not scrimmage on any of the top four lines. The well-travelled Regin played in the Hawks last four playoff games after being a healthy scratch for Chicago's first 10 post-season matches. As he has yet to register a point, Regin's stint in the press box is not really big news.
