Mattias Tedenby (lower body) is still not skating after getting hurt during practice Friday. Just an FYI as Tedenby is slated to be a bottom-six forward and will not have fantasy value as a result.

Mattias Tedenby sustained a lower-body injury while practicing on Friday. "I was skating and I felt it in my lower body when I pushed," Tedeny said. "A little treatment now and we'll see how it is tomorrow." He's hopeful that this won't end up being a long-term problem.

Mattias Tedenby scored a goal for New Jersey in a 2-1 preseason victory over the Rangers Monday night. Tedenby has played 105 career NHL games, but also dressed for four last season, as he spent the majority of the year in the AHL. Eric Gelinas scored the other New Jersey goal while Dominic Moore was the only Ranger to make the scoresheet. New Jersey's goaltending duties were shared between the newly-acquired Cory Schenider and Keith Kinkaid while the Blueshirts were backed by both Henrik Lundqvist and Cam Talbot.

Mattias Tedenby is viewed as a player who is "knocking on the door" by coach Pete DeBoer for a roster spot this season. "It's going to be fun," Tedenby said of training camp. "As usual, I'll just go out there and do my best." He suffered a scary injury last year while playing in the AHL when he was struck in the face by a skate blade. He was sliced from his right ear down to and across his chin. He got a one-year, one-way contract extension from the Devils in June worth $600,000. Tedenby could provide some speed and offense to a lineup that could be lacking in those areas.

Mattias Tedenby has reportedly agreed to a one-year, one-way contract worth $600,000 with the New Jersey Devils, according to Renaud Lavoie of RDS. He missed six weeks after being cut by skate and suffering a severe cut to the right side of his face on Feb. 15 during an AHL contest in Adirondack. He was able to return to the lineup on March 30. Tedenby, who was eligible for restricted free agency, appeared in just four games with New Jersey this past campaign.

Mattias Tedenby practiced with the AHL's Albany Devils Wednesday for the first time since he was cut on the face with a skate during a Feb. 15 game at Adirondack. He required plastic surgery for the cut, which began above his right ear and went across his chin. "He was in good spirits," said Tom Sestito, who is up with New Jersey now but saw Tedenby over the weekend. "The scar is pretty big, but if you know Teddy he's always got a smile on his face, so it's good to see him slowly getting better."

Mattias Tedenby (face) is expected to be back in New Jersey by the middle of the week. He suffered a serious skate cut to the right side of his face Feb. 15 while playing in the AHL and required surgery. Tedenby visited with the surgeon Friday and he'll do that again Tuesday. "This is not just a cut where you're stitched up and play," GM Lou Lamoriello said. "He's okay, but the doctor who did the surgery wanted to see him and to take out a stitch here and there."

Mattias Tedenby hasn't been released from the hospital yet after being cut in the face by a skate on Friday night in a game with the AHL's Albany Devils. "The doctors don't want to let him out until the swelling goes down," GM Lou Lamoriello said. They also want to make sure that an infection doesn't occur. Lamoriello added that Tedenby will come to New Jersey once he's released, so the that the team's medical staff can oversee his recovery.

New Jersey prospect Mattias Tedenby sustained a serious cut to the face in an AHL game Friday night. Tedenby will be OK but he had to endure a long surgical procedure to close the cut and reconstruct some of the damage, including the re-attaching of some nerves. Needless to say, he won't be the Devils' first call up for a little while.
