Brewer left Saturday's game with a lower-body injury and is done for the night, Stephen Whyno of the Canadian Press reports. There is a chance that this was Brewer's final game of his career, and in that case, it was a fine NHL legacy he leaves behind.

Brewer collected a pair of assists in Sunday's win over the Senators. Brewer's been involved in the offense of late, picking up two goals and four points in his last five games. He logged a whopping 24:30 of ice time Sunday, but he's stuck at 11 points on the season and is more known for his defensive contributions. Don't expect any miracles from the 35-year-old in the Leafs' final two games.

Brewer netted his third goal of the season in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Sabres. Brewer has found twine in two of his last three contests, but only has three points in 14 games with the Maple Leafs since coming over at the trade deadline. The Leafs likely didn't expect much offense from Brewer given his modest career track record, as the team's main incentive for taking on his contract from the Ducks was to gain a draft pick in return. Brewer will become a free agent in the offseason and more than likely won't be retained by Toronto.

The Maple Leafs acquired Brewer and a 2016 fifth-round pick from the Ducks on Monday in exchange for defenseman Korbinian Holzer (concussion), Chris Johnston of Sportsnet reports. The deal is largely a salary dump for the Leafs, who had the financial resources to take on Brewer's $3.75 million cap hit if it meant getting a free draft pick in the process. Moreover, the Leafs were in need of healthy bodies on the blue line, so look for Brewer to function as a third-pairing or seventh defenseman for the team the rest of the season until hitting free agency in the summer.

Brewer played 19:09 against Ottawa on Wednesday night in Anahem. Brewer was a healthy scratch Monday against the Wings, but was substituted for fellow blue-liner Ben Lovejoy (healthy) in Wednesday's game. Brewer has been a healthy scratch a number of times this season, and won't be able to gain any semblance of fantasy value until he can consistently get into the lineup.

Though Brewer (foot) has been activated from injured reserve, coach Bruce Boudreau doesn't plan on using him until Tuesday's game against the Hurricanes, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports. Brewer is considered fully healthy at this point, but he'll need to log a few practices to acclimate himself. After being acquired in a trade with the Lightning back on Nov. 28, Brewer barely had any time to establish continuity with his mates, suffering the broken foot in his first game with his new team.

Brewer (foot) was activated from injured reserve Thursday. Brewer's return puts the Ducks roster at full health for the first time in a long while. He's not expected to displace any of the other Anaheim's blueliners from Thursday's lineup, however, but a return to action Friday against the Blackhawks seems more probable.

Brewer (broken foot) is scheduled to visit with doctors in the near future and expects to be cleared for a return to action, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports. Acquired by the Ducks on Nov. 28, Brewer broke his foot in his first game with his new team and hasn't played since. He's since resumed practicing with the team and should be on track to return in the near future, though a regular lineup role won't necessarily be waiting for him.

Brewer (broken foot) mixed in with the Ducks' defensive pairings during Friday's morning skate, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports. Brewer had previously been limited to skating on his own, so his participation in Friday's session represents another step forward. He could be only a few days away from being activated from injured reserve, though it's possible that the Ducks will send him out on a conditioning assignment since he's been out for the last month and a half.

Brewer (broken foot) has been able to resume skating on his own, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports. Brewer hasn't practiced with the team yet, so it's tough to project a return timetable for him. The blueliner has been limited to just 19 games this season due to the injury.
