The Giants released Manningham (calf) from injured reserve Tuesday, Rand Getlin of Yahoo! Sports reports. Manningham suffered a calf injury late in the preseason, resulting in his placement on IR, but he was the roster bubble long before then. The 28-year-old missed the first half of last season while recovering from a torn ACL, and he caught just nine of 23 targets for 85 yards in six games with the 49ers when healthy, so it's hard to imagine he'll garner significant interest now that he's a free agent.

Manninham (calf) has been placed on IR by the Giants, Ralph Vacchiano of the Daily News reports. The report suggests that the Giants may work out an injury settlement with the wideout, but at this stage, it doesn't seem likely that he'd catch on elsewhere in such a scenario.

Manningham will not return to Thursday's game due to a calf injury, ESPN's Dan Graziano reports. Manningham's roster spot has been on the bubble for quite some time, and Thursday's early exit certainly won't help his case. Even if he does make the final cut, don't count on much fantasy production for the 28-year-old in his seventh NFL season.

Mario Manningham (knee) will be "limited" for the start of Giants camp, but has avoided the active/PUP list. The same is true for LT Will Beatty (leg) and OG John Jerry (knee). It means the trio is close to full participation, and should be ready for the preseason.

Marion Manningham (knee) will be sidelined until training camp. Manningham has been working on the side at OTAs as he continues to try and get right after tearing his ACL in Week 16 of 2012. Having just turned 28 and not contributing much the past year or so, anything the Giants get from Manningham would be a bonus. He's merely competing for a 53-man roster spot.

Speaking in a Monday radio interview, Giants coach Tom Coughlin said Mario Manningham (knee) is "not 100 percent," and "not ready." Coughlin did say that Manningham had bulked up. Manningham went down in Week 16 of the 2012 season. He returned last Week 10, making nine catches in six games for the 49ers before a setback with his surgically-repaired knee sent him to injured reserve. Whatever contributions Manningham makes this season will be a bonus. He isn't guaranteed a spot on the 53-man roster.

Giants signed WR Mario Manningham, formerly of the 49ers, to a one-year contract. Manningham, 28 in May, underwent a physical with the Giants on Monday, so the medical staff must have been happy with the status of his surgically-repaired left knee. After a two-year detour with the 49ers, Manningham is back with the Giants, who he spent the first four seasons of his career with. He'll compete for No. 4 receiver duties and won't be guaranteed a roster spot.

The Charlotte Observer names free agent Mario Manningham as a "guy to keep an eye on" for the Panthers. Beat writer Joe Person is simply connecting the dots. Manningham and GM Dave Gettleman know each other from their Giants day. Manningham is actually visiting the G-Men on Monday. He'd be an extremely underwhelming addition to a depleted Panthers receiving corps. Manningham's left knee appears shot. Realistically, he isn't much better than what Carolina already has.

The Giants will host free agent Mario Manningham on Monday. Manningham has obvious history with the Giants' organization, but it's unclear what's left in his tank after recurring knee problems stemming from a torn left ACL and PCL suffered in late December of 2012. Manningham could be a situational deep threat in new playcaller Ben McAdoo's West Coast offense.

Free agent Mario Manningham (left knee) is reportedly doing well and "will definitely be ready for the offseason program." Manningham was placed on injured reserve on December 27 with a "bothersome" left knee, likely stemming from the multi-knee-ligament tear he suffered late in 2012. Unlikely to return to San Francisco, Manningham may have to settle for a minimum-salary contract offer to resurface elsewhere in 2014. A third receiver at best, the 27-year-old has injury and production red flags.
