Former Patriots RB Kevin Faulk has retired from football. Faulk, now 35, played all 13 of his NFL seasons with New England after being selected with the 46th overall pick in the 1999 draft. A versatile pass-blocking specialist and early-career kickoff returner, Faulk finishes his career with 33 all-purpose touchdowns, 431 receptions, and 3,607 rushing yards. Faulk was a part of three Super Bowl winners and a member of the Pats' 2000s All-Decade team. He's sure to earn himself a spot in the Patriots' Ring of Honor. Faulk is New England's franchise record holder in catches by a running back, all-purpose yardage, and kick return yards.

Kevin Faulk says he wasn't 100 percent in 2011, but that he's fully healthy know. Faulk began the year on the PUP list after tearing his ACL in September of 2010. Faulk remains hopeful of re-signing with the Patriots, but is adamant he'll retire if the interest isn't mutual. "I'm being patient, still working out, but at the same time, doing what I have to do to maintain me and my family."

Free agent Kevin Faulk confirms he'll retire if he isn't re-signed by the Patriots. "I hope (the Patriots re-sign me). I'm still praying, hoping," Faulk said. "If it doesn't happen, hey, I had a long run." The Pats have a logjam at running back, but they also did last summer when they signed Faulk to a one-year deal. His status should be resolved by the beginning of camp.

Kevin Faulk told ESPNBoston.com he expects the Patriots to take a ''wait-and-see'' approach about him rejoining the team. Faulk is allowed to participate in the Patriots' offseason program as an unsigned free agent, but, made it clear he doesn't expect a decision on his future anytime soon. The 36-year-old recently announced his plans to return for one more season. If New England goes in another direction, he'll opt for retirement.

Free agent Kevin Faulk is training to play one more season. Faulk contemplated retirement after not dressing for the Super Bowl. Although his surgically repaired knee feels better, Faulk does not want to join another team. If the Patriots don't call, the 36-year-old will opt for retirement.

Free agent Kevin Faulk has hinted he'd be open to joining the Patriots as a coach if he decides to retire. "I'm a football guy," Faulk said, "So that's definitely one of the things that goes on, but I don't want to say that right now, and then something happens." Faulk also said his retirement decision won't be "solely" up to him, suggesting whether or not the Patriots are interested could be a deciding factor. The Boston Globe reported earlier this month Faulk was unlikely to pursue other offers if told he wasn't in the Patriots' plans.

Kevin Faulk remains undecided on his future. The wide assumption is that Faulk will retire, but he's opted against making a quick decision. According to the Boston Globe, "it is believed" Faulk would not attempt to latch on elsewhere if told he was not in the Patriots' 2012 plans.

According to ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss, the belief amongst Faulk's teammates is that he will retire. Faulk declined to comment on his future after being inactive for the Pats' Super Bowl loss.

According to the Boston Globe, Kevin Faulk will likely retire at the end of the Patriots' postseason run. Hardly a surprise, as Faulk was active for only seven games after coming off the PUP list on October 29. He carried the ball 17 times for 57 yards while hauling in seven catches for 34 yards. Four months shy of his 36th birthday and roughly 16 months removed from a torn ACL, Faulk has simply lost his burst. His leadership and pass blocking will be missed, but the Patriots have as much backfield depth as any team in the league.

Kevin Faulk is not on the Patriots' Week 12 injury report. Faulk was inactive for Monday night's blowout win over the Chiefs after being listed as "questionable" with a knee injury. He's practicing in full two days later, so we now suspect that he may have been a healthy scratch.
