Jones had five catches on seven targets for 56 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-28 loss to the Chargers. Although he was outdone by teammate Andre Holmes, Jones turned in a fine performance Sunday, catching one of quarterback Derek Carr's four touchdown passes. Jones has now scored in three of the Raiders' five games this season and is averaging seven targets per contest. Holmes seems to be emerging as Carr's favorite option -- he has been targeted 20 times in the last two games -- but Jones should be able to maintain his relatively high floor in fantasy, with the Raiders having to put in the air a lot to keep up.

Jones had six catches on six targets for 83 yards Sunday against the Dolphins. Jones started off the season well, but has failed to score since his nine-catch, 112-yard, one-touchdown performance in Week 2 against the Texans. He is clearly the No. 1 option in Oakland, though there are now questions at quarterback after Derek Carr suffered a high ankle sprain and a sprained MCL Sunday, leaving backup Matt McGloin under center. The Raiders are off in Week 5, but if Carr cannot recover in time (which is the likely scenario), McGloin or Matt Schaub will be throwing passes to James.

Jones caught three passes (five targets) for 43 yards in Sunday's 16-9 loss at New England. While Jones posted modest totals, he actually led Oakland in receiving yardage. Rod Streater suffered a fractured foot in the loss, so Jones should see a bump in targets.

Jones grabbed nine passes (14 targets) for 112 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's 30-14 loss to Houston. For the second straight week, Jones caught a touchdown in the final two minutes. Unlike Week 1, however, Jones was a big part of the offense throughout, easily leading Oakland in all receiving categories. Rookie quarterback Derek Carr doesn't seem shy about throwing jump balls to Jones, so he might put up some sneaky numbers this year.

Jones had three catches on three targets for 34 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Jets. Jones was having a fairly quiet day until he caught a 30-yard touchdown with 1:21 left in the fourth quarter to pull the Raiders within five. Rod Streater was clearly the wideout of choice Sunday, as he caught five passes on seven targets for 46 yards and a touchdown. Jones has always been a fantasy player heavily dependent on touchdowns to produce much value, and it appears his time in Oakland will be no different.

Jones caught four passes for 36 yards on 10 targets in Friday's preseason game against the Packers. It wasn't the greatest return to Lambeau Field, as Jones had a touchdown overturned while recording just 3.6 yards per target. More concerning than his stat line is Matt Schaub's awful play this preseason. On the bright side, Jones and Rod Streater seem to be locked in as the starting duo, and the Raiders will probably need to do quite a bit of passing this season.

Jones got the start in Friday's preseason game against the Lions and finished with two receptions for 29 yards. While Jones is still listed behind Andre Holmes on the unofficial depth chart, he saw five targets in the first half Friday whereas Holmes didn't see a pass thrown his way until the final drive of the third quarter. Jones was inked to a three-year deal in the offseason, but the team seems intent on making him earn a job along the outside. Despite his age (30), Jones should be up to the task, after hauling in 310 passes for 4,305 yards and 37 touchdowns during his eight seasons in Green Bay.

Jones caught two passes for 29 yards on five targets in Friday's preseason game against the Lions. Jones was active in the offense from the start of Friday's game, though his five targets produced just three catches, one of which went to the other team. Andre Holmes, who is surprisingly listed ahead of Jones on the depth chart, didn't see a pass until the end of the third quarter. There has been some concern about Jones' role in the offense, but he still figures to start across from Rod Streater. The Oakland offense doesn't figure to be particularly good, and Streater has a strong case to be the team's most frequently targeted receiver.

Jones is listed behind Andre Holmes and Rod Streater on the Raiders' unofficial depth chart. Take this with the usual grain of salt, as the depth chart is obviously subject to change over the course of the preseason, but the 30-year-old Jones may have a tough time beating out the team's younger options. By all accounts the hamstring injury that gave Jones some problems in minicamp is no longer an issue, though it may have set him back in the competition for playing time. Even if Jones does manage to earn a starting job for Oakland, he may be hard-pressed to match his 93 targets from a season ago, and of course he'll have Matt Schaub throwing him the ball and not Aaron Rodgers.

James Jones will be sidelined until training camp with a sprained shoulder. He'd missed previous practice time with a hamstring strain. Jones is a 31-year-old veteran, but he could've used the reps with new QB Matt Schaub. Jones does offer some potential to flirt with WR3 value as Oakland's top pass catcher.
