Giants RG Chris Snee announced his retirement from football. He's retiring due to complications from elbow surgery, and two hip surgeries. Only 32 years old, Snee was a Pro Bowler in 2008-2010 and 2012, earning one first-team All-Pro selection. He was heavily underrated during his career. Part of two Super Bowl winners, Snee belongs in the Giants' Ring of Honor.

ESPN's Dan Graziano reports Giants RG Chris Snee will announce his retirement from the NFL on Monday. Hat tip to Giants blog Big Blue Interactive for having this before anyone else. Initial reports indicated Snee would meet with team brass to discuss retirement, but Graziano reports Snee "has indeed decided to retire" at age 32. The four-time Pro Bowler's loss is a big one for Big Blue, as Brandon Mosley (59 career snaps) is now ticketed for right guard duties, with Will Beatty, Geoff Schwartz, J.D. Walton, and Justin Pugh at the other four spots. O-Line injuries torpedoed the Giants' running game last season. While we're trying to stay optimistic that won't happen again this year, things have certainly not gotten off on the right foot.

Giants RG Chris Snee will meet with team brass on Monday to contemplate whether Snee should continue his playing career. Per the New York Daily News' Ralph Vacchiano, Snee's surgically repaired elbow is "not good" after it forced him to be shut down during OTAs. Vacchiano also confirms "retirement is an option" for 32-year-old Snee, who's additionally undergone hip surgeries in back-to-back offseasons. A rumor appearing on the Giants fan site "Big Blue Interactive" claimed Sunday that Snee will "announce his retirement before training camp begins." The rumor hasn't been confirmed, but it certainly appears to be a realistic possibility. The Giants would likely turn to converted OT Brandon Mosley as Snee's heir apparent. Snee is a four-time Pro Bowler and Giants head coach Tom Coughlin's son-in-law.

According to NJ.com's Jordan Raanan, "nobody seems to know" if Giants RG Chris Snee (hip, elbow surgeries) will play this season. 32-year-old Snee has undergone two hip surgeries and is trying to "manage" an elbow he also had surgically repaired this offseason. The elbow forced the Giants to shut down Snee during OTAs. The team remains "hopeful," but it's reasonable to be skeptical after Snee couldn't make it through non-contact OTAs unscathed. He missed 13 games last season. Snee's health status is a huge concern for New York's run game. Converted OT Brandon Mosley is his backup.

A setback to Giants G Chris Snee's surgically-repaired elbow forced him to miss time during spring practices. The elbow surgery Snee underwent in November was reportedly "more intense" than he anticipated, which complicated his rehab process. As a result, Snee was "noticeably thinner" during the offseason program, and said he will need to put on 10 pounds before camp begins. That will be difficult to do if his elbow does not cooperate. Third-year G Brandon Mosley worked with the first-team in Snee's absence.

Giants RG Chris Snee (hip, elbow) is a full participant at OTAs. Snee underwent hip and elbow surgeries after missing all but three games last year. He agreed to a whopping $5.2 million pay cut to keep his roster spot. Snee is penciled in as New York's starting right guard, with Geoff Schwartz on the left side. The tackles are Will Beatty and Justin Pugh. J.D. Walton is working as the first-team center, but will be pushed hard by rookie Weston Richburg.

Giants RG Chris Snee (hip and elbow surgery) is expected to participate in the "bulk" of the team's offseason program. However, Snee remains without a timeline for full clearance. Provided he's healthy, Snee should remain the Giants' starting right guard.

Giants RG Chris Snee agreed to a pay cut, lowering his salary from $7.2 million to $1.1 million. Snee, 32, can earn another $1 million via incentives. The move was fully expected, as Snee was scheduled to count a whopping $11.75 million against the 2014 salary cap in the final year of his contract. He's an asset when healthy.

Giants RG Chris Snee said he's open to taking a pay cut. "That's my job," Snee said. "I never complained about money. I'll do what I have to for the team to get better." Snee, coach Tom Coughlin's son-in-law, carries an $11.75 million cap number and will need to slash that considerably. It'll get worked out. Snee said his hip is doing well, and his elbow is still recovering. The 32-year-old did say he may need a hip replacement down the road.

Chris Snee said if the Giants don't want him in 2014, he'd "probably" retire. Snee, who carries an $11.75 million cap number, is well aware that he'll have to take a massive pay cut to return. "I've had discussions with Jerry [Reese] and there's interest on both sides," he said. "I'm not worried about if the deal will get done but when." Snee, a 32-year-old four-time Pro Bowler, appeared in just three games last season due to a hip injury. If healthy, he's an asset the Giants' muddled offensive line desperately needs.
