Bryce Brown rushed for 25 yards on nine carries in Monday night's Week 1 win over the Redskins. LeSean McCoy was carrying the mail for the Eagles. Brown was in the game just to give him a breather. We saw what McCoy could do in Chip Kelly's high-powered offense, so Brown is a guy to own should McCoy get injured. He's a talented runner in his own right. Brown possesses a ton of speed and can run between the tackles.

Philly Mag's Sheil Kapadia believes the Eagles' running back pecking order "obviously" has Bryce Brown as the No. 2 to LeSean McCoy's No. 1. Chris Polk is No. 3. Polk is a more assignment-sound player than Brown, but the talent gap between Philly's two backups is colossal. Brown finished the preseason with 25 carries for 143 yards (5.7 YPC) and two touchdowns, adding 58 yards on six receptions. He's the high-upside handcuff for McCoy owners.

Bryce Brown rushed 11 times for 92 yards with a touchdown but lost another fumble in Saturday's third preseason game. Brown hasn't learned from last year, when he lost the rock four times on just 115 carries. He continues to carry the ball away from his body and loose, which led to a third-quarter fumble that went through the back of the endzone for a touchback. Still, Brown's speed to the edge is really impressive. He split backup duties with plodding yet more reliable Chris Polk. If LeSean McCoy were to get injured, we suspect Brown would handle the majority of work.

Bryce Brown (quadriceps) returned to Eagles practice Saturday. The quad injury kept Brown out of Philly's second preseason game, but he should be all systems go for next week's regular season dress rehearsal. Brown needs to clean up his blitz pickup or else he risks losing his No. 2 tailback job to Chris Polk. Brown has Polk in sheer running ability by a very wide margin.

Bryce Brown missed Thursday's preseason game with a quad injury, and is day to day. Brown doesn't appear to have practiced this week. In theory, it gives unimpressive No. 3 back Chris Polk an opening, but Polk lost a fumble in Thursday's game. The far superior player, we'd guess Brown still has a firm hold on No. 2 duties.

Bryce Brown rushed five times for 22 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for 19 yards in the Eagles' preseason opener. A surprising camp battle has emerged to be the Eagles' No. 2 running back, and Chris Polk played ahead of Brown on Friday night. Brown is clearly the superior talent and showed that against New England, whereas Polk managed seven yards on four carries. Brown remains a strong fantasy handcuff for LeSean McCoy, though he might lose some work to Polk in the event of a Shady injury.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the idea of Eagles RB Chris Polk beating out Bryce Brown for No. 2 duties isn't "as crazy as it sounds."

Philly.com notes Eagles second-year RB Bryce Brown is "still bouncing too many runs to the outside" in training camp. In addition to fumbling, this was one of Brown's worst rookie-year habits. A powerful, big-play runner when moving north-south, Brown became extremely prone to negative runs and "stuffs" when his shoulder pads were pointed east-west. Brown remains the heavy favorite for No. 2 back duties behind LeSean McCoy, but he still has kinks to iron out after barely playing college football.

Eagles RB Bryce Brown insists he and his breeder are victims in the suspected dog fighting operation in Wisconsin. On Saturday, news came to light that Brown's dogs had been seized in a suspected dog fighting operation back on May 21. Brown released the following statement: "My dog was returned to me quickly because it was obvious that she is not and never has been involved with dog fighting. Northland Pits is a respectable breeder. ... He is a victim in this case, just as I am. He takes great care of his dogs and Eilis [Brown's dog] wouldn't have been breeding there otherwise." This seems like it will be a non-story shortly.

A pit bull and her seven puppies belonging to Eagles RB Bryce Brown were among the animals seized in a suspected dog fighting operation in Wisconsin. The seizure took place on May 21 at Northland Pits in Fall Creek, Wisconsin. During a Friday hearing, Bekah Weitz, the humane officer for the Eau Claire County Humane Association, said one of her concerns regarding the animals was they were being trained for fighting. When the dogs were seized, she saw scarring on seven animals. We'll have more on this story as further details emerge.
