A pit bull and her seven puppies belonging to Eagles RB Bryce Brown were among the animals seized in a suspected dog fighting operation in Wisconsin. The seizure took place on May 21 at Northland Pits in Fall Creek, Wisconsin. During a Friday hearing, Bekah Weitz, the humane officer for the Eau Claire County Humane Association, said one of her concerns regarding the animals was they were being trained for fighting. When the dogs were seized, she saw scarring on seven animals. We'll have more on this story as further details emerge.

Seems odd that this would come up with Micheal Vick on the same team.

Seized pit bulls returned to Eagles RB Bryce Brown

Eagles RB Bryce Brown, who sent his dog to a breeder for stud services, has no ties to an alleged dog-fighting operation.

Whew! What a relief. I have Bryce Brown. I added him in the Spring of 2012 shortly after my league's rookie draft last year. I'm excited about his potential in Chip Kelley's offense. And, I believe he has an outside chance to exceed 1,000 yards rushing this year. Or, at least over 1,000 yards both rushing and receiving. As long as he holds onto the ball and loves his dogs, Bryce Brown will always be a welcomed addition to my dynasty roster!

I think the nfl is going to start losing some fans if all these stories turn out to be true and they dont start doing something about it...Maybe Tebow can step in and start saving people..?

Read the story before passing judgement. From what I gather, He sent his dog there to have a properly trained vet give birth to his dog.

PNickM Sat 6/29/13 3:30 PM

But that begs the question, why send your dog to a vet in Wisconsin? Wouldn't there be just as qualified a vet closer to where you lived? Just wondering if that is the case..

joegibbskins07 Sat 6/29/13 4:07 PM

he sent his prize "pure, pure" dog to have a properly trained vet give birth to his dog at a breeding kennel operating without a license in Wisconsin that was busted for poor conditions, animal abuse and suspected dog fighting and i should not pass judgement? i will say its either one of two things;

the guy is a complete idiot and fails to research things.

or

looking to cash in on some dog fighting by selling the litter to a dog fighter.... in Wisconsin.

Dom Sat 6/29/13 4:18 PM

When you go to a doctor or dentist, do you look up their license first? You think if they have a business, they must have a license.

joegibbskins07 Sat 6/29/13 4:26 PM

no but if the place is a mess and animals have visible problems, i wont get my teeth done there. if i have the money, i go to a high end place, not a low end place. also, if i am going to take the time to send my dog all the way to Wisconsin, yes, i would have checked first. so if he is not involved then its safe to say he is not very smart.

Dom Sat 6/29/13 4:37 PM

I never said he was smart. I just don't think that he was sending his pregnant dog there to fight.

Jasaks Sat 6/29/13 1:45 PM

You'd think this was a joke, seeing as no teammate of Michael Vick would dare do the same stupid thing. But then again, Bryce Brown didn't go to college... Anyone else laughing inside at the irony of an Eagles player running a dog fighting ring? I am. Good thing he'll be a perfect for Chip Kelly's system, was a beast last year every time they ran with him out of the shotgun. Go Eagles.

Jasaks Sat 6/29/13 1:46 PM

Oh and uh... before anyone else makes the joke... Bryce Brown really dropped the ball on this one. Zing.

sethwoodard Sat 6/29/13 2:03 PM

yeah i was thinking about trading for him... not anymore

joegibbskins07 Sat 6/29/13 4:08 PM

what does brown not going to collage have anything to do with it? he did not go to collage so there is no way he could be involved in dog fighting? i dont see the point you are trying to make with that.

[Deleted User] Sat 6/29/13 4:11 PM

he was saying hes stupid

joegibbskins07 Sat 6/29/13 4:27 PM

oh yea... totally missed that. my bad.

joegibbskins07 Sat 6/29/13 1:39 PM

wait.... Vick is on that team too!

Donnie_Loveboat Sat 6/29/13 11:51 PM

ha gibbs! and it's college* kind sir. good to hear as of now it appears to be just a misunderstanding. bryce seem's like a nice young man, and it would be a shame to see him throw away such a promising career by being a knucklehead.

thanks for the English lesson that i wont remember after my comment gets posted.

Brown can be awesome if he can hold on to the ball. he will get plenty of carries due to the incumbent starter being as fragile as he is. he just needs to drink a big glass of act-right.

Donnie_Loveboat Sun 6/30/13 2:43 PM

it's not my problem you don't have retention gibbs! you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. i wouldn't call shady fragile, last years the only time he had real injury trouble professionally. and i think bryce will be much better carrying the foo ball this year. last season was the most playing team he's seen since his freshman year in college, he should only continue to improve if he can simply ackrite.

never said it was your problem so no worries. the expression is "drink a big glass of act-right". got it from an old drunk living down on the corner. how ironic is that?

McCoy has had a few minor issues but the concussion issue is a big one in my mind. another good dinger like that and they will shut him down for an extended period. I worry more about concussions than I do about torn ACL's these days. you can repair a ACL but my impression is that concussions seem to grow more frequent once you start having them.

Donnie_Loveboat Mon 7/1/13 11:32 AM

i'm inclined to agree with you because it does seem to be true. a player that sustains a concussion seems more prone to have another down the road. don't know the exact science behind it and frankly i don't think folks researching it do either. knowledge of head trauma has grown by leaps and bounds the past couple years, and should continue to with NFL and government funding. hopefully one day this may no longer be an issue, but as of now concussions remain a serious detriment to the game.

I don't trust many things that are funded by the government and the NFL. the government gets caught up in too much red tape and scandals and the NFL has something to lose in the results. put them both together and you get one giant pile of...... (censored). its the outside, private groups I would chose to look at.
