Collie has signed with the CFL's British Columbia Lions, Tom James of the Terre Haute Tribune-Star reports. Known largely for his track record of concussions, the 29-year-old Collie will look to continue his playing career in the CFL, after spending a season away from the game. He caught 54+ passes in three consecutive seasons with the Colts from 2009 to 2011.

Free agent Austin Collie visited the Redskins. Finally healthy, Collie appeared in seven games for the Patriots last season, catching six regular-season passes. Collie also grabbed four balls for 57 yards in the AFC Championship Game. Collie is not the player he was before head and knee injuries derailed his career, but going on 29, he still knows how to get open.

His playing time spiked by Aaron Dobson's foot woes, Collie was mixed in on three- and four-wide sets. He had a chance at a huge late first-half reception, but Tom Brady's throw was high and wide, and well off the mark. Collie did pick up two first-down catches in the third quarter, good for gains of 12 and 7, and a late 20-yard grab. Still attempting to revive his career after multiple early concussions, Collie turned 28 in November and is entering free agency. The Patriots would be smart to bring him back in a reserve role, because he knows how to get open.

Patriots waived WR Austin Collie. Collie has yo-yoed on and off New England's roster throughout the year, catching six balls for 63 yards over the course of seven games. The Pats will likely keep him on speed dial into the playoffs, but they are getting healthier at receiver now and have less use for Collie's services.

Collie caught just three passes in four games as a Pat, and has only four grabs since the end of the 2011 season. The vast majority of Collie's once prodigious upside has vanished. He's near the end of the line.

Austin Collie left Sunday's Week 9 game against the Steelers with a knee injury and will not return. Collie was active ahead of Kenbrell Thompkins, but didn't have any catches or targets.

Austin Collie had no catches in Week 8 despite playing on 33-of-65 snaps. Despite the substantial playing time, Collie had no targets. But over the last two weeks, he's played on 41.6 percent of the snaps with Tom Brady. Anyone getting that kind of usage in this offense should be on watch lists.
