Austin Collie's player rep says it's "premature" to say Collie has officially suffered another concussion. "It would be premature to conclude anything at this juncture," Collie's rep said. "(Collie) is going to go through the normal protocols." Coach Chuck Pagano said Collie had been diagnosed with a concussion in a Monday conference call, but was optimistic about his status, terming him "day-to-day." Regardless of whether or not Collie has yet to be officially diagnosed with his fourth concussion in 21 months, his status is a major concern for fantasy owners. He should be considered out indefinitely until further notice.

Colts WR Austin Collie has been officially diagnosed with a concussion, but "felt good" on Monday, and is considered day-to-day.

The Indianapolis Star already considers Austin Collie (possible concussion) doubtful for the rest of the preseason. Collie was not in the locker room following Sunday's preseason game. So far, all the Colts have said is that he's being evaluated for a concussion. It's a precarious situation as Collie's 2010 season was ended prematurely by three scary concussions.

Austin Collie exited Sunday night's preseason game against the Steelers with a possible concussion. Officially, he's being evaluated for "concussion symptoms" after complaining to the Colts' medical staff following a first-quarter armbar to the helmet. Collie played in all 16 games last season, but suffered three concussions the previous year. Another concussion would obviously be a big concern. Collie has looked awfully sharp this preseason, catching three passes for 45 yards and a touchdown in the exhibition opener. His status going forward is unknown.

Austin Collie caught three balls for 45 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's preseason opener against the Rams. Collie was Andrew Luck's favorite receiver, seeing a game-high five targets while operating as an every-down player. Collie looked like a natural playing outside at flanker, securing a 23-yard touchdown dart from Luck in the second quarter. With a current Average Draft Position in the 14th round, Collie is perhaps the most underrated receiver in fantasy football right now.

According to the Indianapolis Star, the Colts' new coaching staff sees Austin Collie as "more of an asset outside, even in three wide-receiver sets." Interesting. We knew Collie had been operating as the Colts' No. 2 receiver in two-wide sets, but assumed he'd kick back into the slot in three-receiver sets. Per beat writer Phil Wilson, Reggie Wayne has been getting snaps in the slot in three-wide sets. How Indy's receiver corps shakes out under aggressive new OC Bruce Arians will be something to monitor closely in preseason games.

The Colts are giving Austin Collie a legitimate chance to secure the outside receiver job opposite Reggie Wayne in training camp. Collie is already locked in as Indy's slot receiver, but he's getting a long look as the first-team flanker. "Before I was more like the security blanket," Collie explained. "Now I am going to focus on being able to make the big play down the field." Emerging as an every-down receiver would be a big help to Collie's fantasy value. He'll have to beat out Donnie Avery and LaVon Brazill.

Austin Collie exploded for a season-high nine receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown, but the Colts fell to the Jaguars in Week 17 to lock up the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 draft. The Colts are a virtual lock to draft Stanford's Andrew Luck, leaving up in the air the futures of nucleus players Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Joseph Addai, and Robert Mathis. Collie, among the most effective per-play receivers in the league in 2010, went over 70 yards and found the end zone for the first time all season on 11 targets. Allaying concussion concerns, Collie finishes with a 54/514/1 line. It's conceivable that he could enter 2012 as the Colts' No. 1 receiver.

Austin Collie caught four passes for 25 yards in the Colts' Week 14 loss to the Ravens. He was efficient, at least, hauling in 80 percent of his five targets. Collie has been waiver-wire material in fantasy football leagues all year long.
