Wiliams (knee) was released by the Warriors on Thursday, Anthony Slater of Bay Area News Group reports.
EDGE Analysis
After being signed by the Warriors in early-August, it was widely believed that Williams could be more than just a training camp body. However, he was forced to undergo a knee scope, which kept him off the floor during the preseason and ultimately gave him little shot of sticking on the regular season roster. Once healthy, he'll likely start the season the NBA D-League and could join the Warriors' D-League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors.

Williams had a knee scope late in the summer and is currently a couple weeks away from a return, Anthony Slater of The Oklahoman reports.
EDGE Analysis
It was likely a clean-up procedure for Williams, who's been unable to join the Warriors for the start of the preseason. If he does end up sitting out for another couple weeks, Williams will likely only have a few preseason games to prove his worth to the coaching staff. He's currently on a partially guaranteed contract and isn't a lock to make the final regular season roster, so this latest injury could hurt his chances.

Williams signed a partially guarenteed one-year deal with the Warriors on Monday, Shams Charania of The Vertical reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams has played just 18 games over the past three season for three different squads including five games for the Grizzlies last season. The 27-year-old guard will provide depth for the Warriors, but it is very unlikely he cracks the rotation at any point.

Williams signed a contract with Panathinaikos of Greece on Tuesday, Sportando reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams previously appeared in five games for the Grizzlies this season, producing averages of 1.6 points and 0.8 assists in 9.2 minutes before he was released from his 10-day contract in January. He had since returned back to the D-League, where he was one of the circuit's leading scorers, but he'll now pursue a more lucrative payday in Europe. Look for Williams to return to the United States after the season with the hope of earning an invite to an NBA training camp in 2016-17.

Williams has reached the end of his 10-day deal with the Grizzlies, and the team will not re-sign him, Marc Stein of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams appeared in five games, tallying just eight total points in roughly 45 minutes of action. The former Duke standout will likely return to the D-League, where he's averaging 28.1 points and 5.8 assists in 16 games this season, in hopes of piquing another team's interest.

Williams is expected to sign a 10-day contract with the Grizzlies, Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams is currently playing with the Santa Cruz Warriors in the D-League. He won the D-League MVP last season and has continued his stellar play this season, averaging 28.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 1.2 steals in 41 minutes per game through 16 games. The Grizzlies will have to waive one of their current players to make room for Williams on the roster.

Williams was waived by the Hornets on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Williams dealt with a hip injury throughout training camp and the preseason, and he'll now look to latch on with another team. He appeared in only 13 NBA games last season, signing separate 10-day deals with both the Jazz and Pelicans. The journeyman will likely find himself in a similar scenario this season.

Williams (hip) has been ruled out for Saturday's preseason opener against the Magic.
EDGE Analysis
Williams is a fringe player for the Hornets, and he'll likely be on the bubble when rosters need to be trimmed down prior to the regular season. This hip ailment certainly doesn't help his chances of making an impact early in the exhibition season.

Williams missed Thursday's practice with a hip injury, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams has a first-round pedigree as a former No. 22 overall selection by the Trail Blazers in 2010, but injuries have dogged him at seemingly every turn throughout his time in the pros. He missed most of his first three seasons in the league with knee, shoulder, and Achilles injuries, and has since become an NBA nomad in recent years, spending time with the Jazz, Pelicans, and Hornets in 2014-15. He'll attempt to shake off this latest setback in quick fashion to showcase his game during the preseason, but even in a best-case scenario, Williams is probably looking at a deep bench role on an improved Charlotte roster.
