Tolleson cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo. Tolleson saw time in 19 games for Toronto this season, but with Devon Travis and Jose Reyes both healthy, he was the odd man out in the infield.

Tolleson (groin) was activated from the disabled list and designated for assignment Wednesday, John Lott of the National Post reports. Tolleson saw consistent playing time briefly with injuries in the Blue Jays' infield, but there's no room left for him with Devon Travis and Jose Reyes both now healthy. He will now go through waivers, and could wind up in the minors if unclaimed.

Tolleson (groin) has goone just 1-for-12 in his last three rehab games with Triple-A Buffalo. Tolleson continues to work his way back from a groin injury that sent him to the disabled list in late May. He's starting to play on a consistent basis, but it would seem a spot with the Blue Jays upon his return is not guaranteed. There's no set return date at this point, but the team will need to make a move with him at some point in the next week or two when his allotted rehab stint expires.

Tolleson (groin) is scheduled to play a full game at shortstop for Triple-A Buffalo on Monday, Ben Wagner of WWKB 1520 AM reports. As Tolleson works his way back from injury, he may find that there's no space for him in Toronto once healthy. With Devon Travis also working his way back to the majors, Tolleson could once again find himself squeezed out of a roster spot as he was earlier this season.

Tolleson (groin) began a rehab assignment Thursday at High-A Dunedin, Shi Davidi of SportsNet reports. Tolleson went 0-for-4 with a walk and a run Thursday, and he figures to make at least a couple more appearances before potentially returning to the Blue Jays. Tolleson was placed on the disabled list near the end of May retroactive to May 27.

Tolleson was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday retroactive to May 27 due to a groin strain, John Lott of the National Post reports. Tolleson's absence from the lineup each of the past three games was likely an indicator of the issue, but it appears it's serious enough to warrant a stint on the disabled list. The Blue Jays recalled Munenori Kawasaki on Sunday to replace him on the 25-man roster.

Tolleson is out of the lineup Sunday against the Mariners, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports. He'll cede the keystone to Munenori Kawasaki for the second time this series. The Blue Jays haven't received much production at second base since Devon Travis (shoulder) landed on the DL, and neither Tolleson nor Kawasaki figure to draw much interest in fantasy circles.

Tolleson is out of the lineup Friday. With Devon Travis on the DL, Tolleson will man the keystone most days for the Jays, but Friday is not one of those days. Instead Munenori Kawasaki will get the start at second and hit ninth.

Tolleson was strong in his start Monday, going 2-for-5 with two runs scored and a stolen base. Tolleson has had back-to-back big days at the dish now, going 4-for-9 with three doubles in his last two games. Through 29 at-bats at the Major League level, Tolleson is hitting .276 while playing the middle infield and the corner outfield.

The Blue Jays purchased Tolleson's contract from Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday, Brendan Kennedy of the Toronto Star reports. He'll take the 40-man spot of Preston Guilmet and provide an extra bat off the bench for the big club after Michael Saunders (knee inflammation) landed on the DL. Tolleson offers the ability to play at multiple infield spots, but his light bat (.239/.292/.364 line over 334 career plate appearances) will inhibit his chances of assuming a regular role for the Blue Jays. Nonetheless, he could push Ryan Goins for starts at shortstop, at least until Jose Reyes (ribs) returns.
