Danks will be granted his release from the Braves, Charlie Wilmoth of MLB Trade Rumors reports.
EDGE Analysis
Danks inked a minor-league contract with the Braves in December and received the opportunity to audition for a rotation spot with the big club in spring training, but he was unable to beat out Mike Foltynewicz for the fifth starter role after getting lit up for seven runs on 14 hits and six walks over 9.2 innings in Grapefruit League play. The 31-year-old, who was out of baseball after being released by the White Sox last May, may need to prove himself in the minors with another organization before he gets another look at the big-league level. Danks hasn't turned in a sub-4.50 ERA in a season since 2011.

Danks signed a minor-league deal with the Braves on Monday, Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Danks sat out most of the 2016 season following a release from the White Sox in May and will now look for a second chance with the Braves. He will likely work as starter depth for a Braves team inching toward contending, but his recent track record is mediocre enough that his fantasy value is negligible. The 31-year-old hasn't posted an ERA+ above league average since 2011, a year before undergoing shoulder surgery, and he holds a career 6.6 K/9.

Danks was designated for assignment Tuesday, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Danks was lit up in his first four starts of the season, posting a 7.25 ERA, 1.75 WHIP, and allowing five home runs over just 22.1 innings. He'll try to straighten himself out in the minors, while Erik Johnson is expected to join the big league team and slot into the rotation in his stead.

Danks (0-4) pitched five innings, allowing six runs, nine hits and two walks while striking out four in Thursday's lopsided loss to the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
To say Danks has a rough start to his 2016 would be an understatement. After his first four starts, every peripheral suggests he is one of the worst pitchers in the league right now. One of the most glaring numbers is the drop in his fastball velocity which is at an average speed of 87.1 mph, well below any other time in his career. Dank's K:BB is terrible and he's been giving up home runs at a record pace. The 31-year-old lefty has a track record of getting it done in the majors, so it's possible he can turn this around, but many of the early performance indicators are extremely concerning.

Danks allowed six runs on nine hits in five innings against the Orioles on Thursday to take his fourth loss of the season.
EDGE Analysis
The O's tagged Danks for two home runs in this one, both of which came in a four-run fifth. He settled down a bit after that frame, but the damage was done. His hold on a rotation spot could be a bit more wobbly today if Miguel Gonzalez had thrown a good outing earlier in the week. Gonzalez did not, but the White Sox could have a lower level of tolerance for Danks' ineptitude if they remain in contention for the AL Central crown.

Danks is scheduled to make his next start Thursday in Baltimore, Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
As it lines up, Danks' role in the rotation beyond that is uncertain as the White Sox have an off-day Monday before a homestand next week. Miguel Gonzalez's performance Monday night against Toronto may ultimately dictate the White Sox's plans for their veteran left-hander.

Danks (0-3) put 10 men on base Thursday -- five hits and five walks -- but was able to limit the damage to two runs in a losing effort. He struck out just two.
EDGE Analysis
Despite this outing meeting the requirements to be considered a quality start, it's hard to consider it that. Danks has been simply awful to start this year, as evidenced by his 6.23 ERA and 1.62 WHIP, and considering he's coming off four straight seasons with an ERA of 4.71 or higher, it's hard to imagine many fantasy formats where he's worth owning.

Danks (0-2) allowed five runs on six hits, including two home runs while also striking out four and walking three over 6.1 innings in a loss to the Rays on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander has allowed five runs in each of his first two starts to begin 2016. Although he didn't give up a homer in his first outing, Danks was living a bit dangerously, recording 13 fly ball outs. It caught up with him Saturday versus Tampa Bay, as he tossed up bombs to Brandon Guyer and Brad Miller. Danks has allowed 1.36 homers per nine innings over the last three years.

Danks is scheduled to next pitch Saturday against the Rays, the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Danks was originally slated to go Friday, but the club wants to keep Chris Sale on regular rest after a rain-out on Sunday. The White Sox could have skipped Danks' start entirely, so it should be seen as a positive that they did not. Danks has been the weak link in the team's rotation through one turn, but he likely has a fairly long leash before he gets pulled for someone like Miguel Gonzalez or Erik Johnson.

Danks threw six scoreless innings against the Padres on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The outing pushed his scoreless inning streak to 11, and he has struck out 13 over that stretch. The outcomes of his starts are obviously less important than the length of them, and it is nice to see his starts last the expected number of innings. Danks entered camp with a strong hold on one of the team's final rotation spots, and nothing has happened to jar that assumption.
