Chris Cotillo of MLBDailyDish.com reports that Brett Myers will sit out the 2014 season but is not retired. Myers plans to look for a deal next offseason. The veteran right-hander held an 8.02 ERA over four appearances for the Indians last season before being diagnosed with a partially torn UCL and eventually released. He didn't have surgery, so he's going to be a major health question in 2015.

Brett Myers (elbow) is scheduled to make a rehab appearance with Double-A Akron on Saturday. It will be his first game action since June 27. Myers will likely need to make back-to-back appearances in the minors before being reevaluated, but should be an option for the Indians' bullpen at some point in September.

Brett Myers (elbow) threw a successful simulated game on Sunday. Myers hasn't appeared in a game since being shut down from his rehab assignment in late June. The simulated game is a nice step, but he'll need to make a handful of rehab appearance before being an option for the Indians' bullpen.

Brett Myers (elbow) remains without a timetable to return from the disabled list. Myers has been shut down from his throwing program since July 2 and is trying to pitch through a partially torn UCL. "Right now, he's just trying to get his arm feeling right," Indians pitching coach Mickey Callaway said. "Hopefully, he'll be throwing off the mound by the time the All-Star break's done."

Brett Myers will be shut down for 3-5 days after feeling discomfort in his right elbow while warming up Monday. Myers is trying to pitch through a partially torn UCL, but the odds of it working don't appear to be very high. He'll try to throw again later this week.

Brett Myers (elbow) will resume a rehab assignment with Short-Season Mahoning Valley on Monday. Myers will throw only one inning, which could mean he's transitioning to reliever. The Indians had been considering the possibility in hopes that the righty would have a better chance of staying healthy that way. There's no timetable for Myers' return.

Indians transferred RHP Brett Myers from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. The move was made to clear room on the 40-man roster for John McDonald. Myers Myers has been out since late April with a mild UCL tear and was shut down last month after he felt renewed soreness. He's throwing again but could possibly return as a reliever.
