Brett Myers (elbow) resumed a throwing program Friday. Myers has been out since late April with a mild UCL tear and was shut down last month after he felt renewed soreness in a rehab start at Double-A Akron. While it's a step in the right direction, there's still no clear timetable for his return.

Brett Myers (elbow) could resume a throwing program in 4-5 days. Myers, out since late April with a mild UCL tear, felt renewed soreness last week after going four-plus innings in a rehab start at Double-A Akron. He remains without a timetable to rejoin the Indians, and could be used as a reliever upon his return.

Brett Myers could be converted into a reliever if his right elbow issues persist for much longer. Myers was diagnosed in late April with a mild UCL tear and felt renewed soreness last week after going four-plus innings in a rehab start at Double-A Akron. "We'd like to let him come back as a starter," manager Terry Francona told reporters. "Saying that, I guess if it ever got to the point where we thought he could handle being a reliever, maybe that's something we would look at, just out of common sense."

Brett Myers (elbow) has been shut down 5-7 days. He will then try to resume his throwing program. Myers was diagnosed with a mild UCL tear in his right elbow back in late April and felt renewed discomfort while making a rehab start last week. Surgery is still on the table.

Brett Myers felt some right elbow crankiness following his latest minor league rehab start. Myers has been sent to Cleveland to be reevaluated and will not make his scheduled rehab outing on Monday. This could obviously be a big setback for the right-hander, who had been nearing a return to the Indians. He was diagnosed with a mild UCL tear in late April.

Brett Myers (elbow) will make at least one more rehab start. Myers' velocity was down on Wednesday in his second rehab outing with Double-A Akron, and he walked four while allowing three runs over 4 1/3 frames. Assuming his velocity comes back up the next time out, he could rejoin the Indians' rotation after that.

Brett Myers (elbow) will make his second minor league rehab start on Wednesday at Double-A Akron. Myers threw 33 pitches last week in his first rehab start and will probably try to top 50 pitches on Wednesday. He'll make at least one more start in the minors after that before being considered for activation. The right-hander is attempting to pitch through a UCL tear.

Brett Myers (elbow) fared well in his first minor league rehab start with Double-A Akron on Friday, allowing just one hit and a walk over three scoreless innings of work. Myers threw 33 pitches in the game, 18 for strikes. He's dealing with a mild UCL tear in his elbow, but has chosen to try to pitch through the injury rather than undergoing surgery. It's a good first step, but he'll need several rehab outings before rejoining the Indians' rotation.

Brett Myers (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Akron on Friday. Myers is slated to throw three innings, so he'll obviously need a few rehab outings before rejoining the Indians' rotation. The right-hander has a mild tear of the UCL in his elbow but is trying to pitch through it.

Brett Myers (elbow) threw around 45 pitches Tuesday in a bullpen session at Citizens Bank Park. Myers could be cleared to make a rehab start this weekend if he wakes up Wednesday with no abnormal discomfort. The right-hander has been on the disabled list since April 21 with a mild tear of the UCL in his elbow. The Indians could ask him to make multiple rehab starts.
