Buffalo coach Lindy Ruff is unsure if Zack Kassian's physical game can reach its full potential. "I liked what he was doing on the offensive side of it for the most part," Ruff said referring to Kassian's work prior to being traded at the deadline to Vancouver. "Good puck protection and hanging onto pucks. I've got a curiosity on where his physical game is going to go, and that's it. But he's a young player. You never know with young players. It's a little bit of hit and miss. There's a lot of inconsistency usually, so in his case there's a lot there. It's whether he's going to get it to that full potential." Kassian notched three goals, seven points and 20 penalty minutes in 27 games with the Sabres. The 21-year-old made his Canucks' debut on Tuesday night. He had one shot and a two penalty minutes in 12:27 of ice time. Kassian has also been credited with a total of 44 hits this campaign.

The Vancouver Canucks have acquired Zack Kassian and Marc-Andre Gragnani from the Buffalo Sabres for Cody Hodgson and Alexander Sulzer. Kassian, 21, is a physical force at 6-foot-3, 214 pounds and a former first-round (13th overall) pick of the Sabres in 2009. The rugged winger has the full package: some offensive skills, size and the willingness to bang bodies. He'll add some sandpaper to the Canucks' forward group and protection to their skilled forwards. Kassian had three goals, four assists and 20 penalty minutes in 27 games this year.

Zack Kassian was returned to the minors on Sunday. He served as a healthy scratch on Saturday versus the New York Islanders after logging 15:11 of ice time against the Rangers on Feb. 1. Kassian has six points and 13 penalty minutes in 19 contests with the Sabres this season.

He has collected 22 points and 29 penalty minutes in 28 games at the AHL level this season, while earning six points and 13 PIMs in 18 contests with the Sabres. Kassian is likely to play on Wednesday with Thomas Vanek injured and an unknown player feeling under the weather.

Zack Kassian will probably be a healthy scratch on Tuesday. Kassian was also in the press box during Saturday's loss. "I have one point. That's unacceptable and I know that," Kassian said. "I need to be better. When you go 10 games with one point, call-up or not, I hold myself to high expectations. I have to be better." Kassian is certainly capable of more, but he isn't expected to have any fantasy value in standard leagues this season.

Sabres rookie Zack Kassian was in the press box for Saturday's loss to the Senators. Kassian has scored just one point in his last 10 games and coach Lindy Ruff opted to dress Cody McCormick and Matt Ellis in his place. Expect Kassian to find his way back into the rotation soon.

Zack Kassian scored a goal and registered an assist in a 5-4 loss to the Flyers Wednesday. Ville Leino, Thomas Vanek, and Drew Stafford each scored a goal for Buffalo. Jason Pominville had two assists, giving him 29 points in 27 games.

Zack Kassian registered an assist in his NHL debut on Friday. Kassian logged 11:43 minutes and was credited with a hit, but not a shot on goal. He's got plenty of potential, but he needs to get more playing time if he is to have any fantasy value this season.
