Zach Parise scored a goal and added an assist, but the Devils dropped a 4-3 decision to Florida in Game Three of their opening round playoff series. Parise opened the scoring just 33 seconds into the game and he later assisted on a Patrik Elias goal that made the score 3-0 and chased Jose Theodore from the game. Stephen Gionta also scored his first career playoff goal in the losing effort.

Zach Parise recorded a team-high 12 shots on goal in the Devils' first two playoff games, but he hasn't been able to score. "I've had some great opportunities and they'll go in," Parise said. "It is frustrating when they're not going in, but other than that I really like the way I've been playing. I've been getting a lot of great opportunities. Yeah, it is frustrating when it's not going in, but as long they keep coming eventually the puck will go in." The Devils are looking to bounce back on Tuesday after losing Game 2 to the Florida Panthers.

Zach Parise was the only player to register a shot in all 82 games this season. He posted six shots in Saturday's finale against Ottawa, but couldn't find the back of the net in the contest. Parise did end up with his 38th assist and 69th point of the year though. The New Jersey captain concluded the campaign with 293 shots, which was good for eighth overall in the league.

It was like old times for Devils left wing Zach Parise and center Travis Zajac in Thursday's 6-4 win over Tampa Bay. After Parise missed all but one of the team's final 70 games of last season following surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee, Zajac missed all but eight of the Devils' first 75 games of this season while recovering from a torn left Achilles tendon. The longtime linemates are finally both healthy now and were reunited in Thursday's game on a line with Ilya Kovalchuk. Although Zajac didn't get on the score sheet, Kovalchuk scored a goal and Parise had an assist. "It was fun," Parise said. "I thought we made some good plays, some good cycles. We could have had a few more (goals), should have had a few more, but it will come. I think as he gets more and more comfortable if they keep it like this it will be pretty good line." "In the first period, we made some good plays," Zajac said. "We were just a bounce away from getting a couple, I thought. The second and third periods were good, too. We had some chances. It will come."

Zach Parise scored his 30th goal of the season in New Jersey's 5-2 loss to Pittsburgh Sunday. Save for his injury-shortened 13-game campaign in 2010-11, Parise has now reached the 30-goal plateau in five straight seasons. Ilya Kovalchuk also scored his 32nd goal of the year in the loss.

Zach Parise reported that he was fine after he was caught in a knee-on-knee collision with Ottawa's Zenon Konopka in the second period on Tuesday. The knee was the same one that he had surgery on last season to repair a torn meniscus, but he didn't miss a shift after the incident. Konopka was given a two-minute penalty for kneeing on the play and the Devils scored the only goal of the game during that man advantage. Parise has 28 goals and 62 points in 74 games this season.

Zach Parise recorded the 399th and 400th points of his career on Thursday. Parise has spent his entire career with the Devils and is now in ninth place in franchise history in terms of points. Scott Stevens is in eighth place with 430 points and there's a chance that Parise will never reach him. Parise is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this summer and he'll be one of the most attractive prizes available this summer if he decides to test the open market.

Zach Parise said his hand felt "much better" on Wednesday after he played through some pain during Tuesday's contest against the Rangers. "It was one of those things where you warm up and the game kind of consumes your mind, so you just kind of forget about it," he said. "You get reminded once in a while on the ice, but it was fine." The Devils captain has begun the month of March strongly, with four goals and one assist in four games.

Zach Parise was apparently close to sitting out Tuesday's win over the New York Rangers because of a sore hand. X-rays didn't reveal any broken bones after a shot struck his left hand on Sunday versus the Islanders and Brad Mills was recalled to take his spot if needed. Parise was able play on Tuesday though and he logged 20:26 ice time, while generating his 30th helper of the year.
