New Jersey GM Lou Lamoriello said Zach Parise's decision to play for Minnesota wasn't motivated by money. The former Devils captain wanted to play in his home state and he wanted to play on the same team as Ryan Suter. Lamoriello expressed his disappointment with losing Parise, but he said the offer they presented was "competitive" to the 13-year, $98 million deal that was accepted from the Wild.

Zach Parise has inked a 13-year deal with the Minnesota Wild worth $98 million. Parise is a star player who recorded 31 goals and 69 points with New Jersey last season. It was his first year back after a knee injury cut his 2010-11 season drastically short. He also had eight goals and seven assists in 24 playoff contests, while captaining the Devils to the Stanley Cup Finals. He should be counted on in all key situations with the Wild and will likely play alongside Mikko Koivu on the team's top line.

Zach Parise will reportedly not be signing with the Pittsburgh Penguins nor the Detroit Red Wings, according to Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and ESPN's Craig Custance. The news is up on Pierre LeBrun's Twitter account. The Penguins and Wings were rumored to be two of Parise's possible destinations, but they are both apparently out of the running now. That narrows the list down of suitors to New Jersey, Minnesota, Chicago and Philadelphia. Stay tuned as a decision could be drawing closer.

Zach Parise is back home in Minnesota where he is expected to mull over his offers with his family. It is believed that he has several on the table that could last for 13 seasons and total a salary that exceeds $100 million, so this decision is a big one for him and his future. "We haven't made a timetable or wanted to make a timetable," Parise said. "I don't want to put those types of restrictions on anything. You have to do the right research and it's a life-changing decision." New Jersey, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Detroit and Philadelphia are rumored to be the mix for his services.

The Blackhawks have made a late push to sign Zach Parise, even though reports indicated they weren't on his short list of teams early on in the sweepstakes. Parise is still mulling over his options, and the frontrunners appear to be the Devils, Penguins, Red Wings and Wild. The Hawks seemed to make a late play for the star forward and would have to offer Parise a deal worth $100 million with a $12 million signing bonus to be a legitimate contender, which is unclear at this point. And if they were to sign him, they'd have to make a significant roster move to free up salary cap space before next season.

Despite earlier indications to the contrary, Zach Parise's agent will not rule out the possibility of his client signing Monday night. We'll just have to wait and see. It originally looked like Parise would about his options with his family on Tuesday before coming to a decision. Based on the most recent indications, the New Jersey Devils are still in the mix.

Zach Parise is not expected to sign with any team on Monday. It looks like Parise's time as an unrestricted free agent will last at least one more day. He wants more time to talk it over with his family before announcing his decision. He hasn't announced the list of offers he's still considering, but he hasn't ruled out the possibility of re-signing with the New Jersey Devils.

The Penguins' offer on the table to Zach Parise is unparalleled in their franchise history for an unrestricted free agent. According to The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Rob Rossi, the offer has more years and is for a larger average annual salary than the seven-year, $50 million proposal in 2008 to Marian Hossa, who ended up signing with with the Wings. Parise has received offers from at least seven teams and is believed to be seeking at least $10 million per season. The coveted free agent is expected to make his decision Monday, after taking the night to mull over his options.

Bob McKenzie reports that Zach Parise won't announce his free agent decision until Monday. It makes sense and it also follows recent history. As you may remember, Brad Richards decided to sign with the New York Rangers, but didn't make the verdict - or at least didn't make it official - until the morning of July 2. Ilya Kovalchuk's official decision took some time in 2010, as well.

The Minnesota Wild have made contract offers to Zach Parise and Ryan Suter. The Wild could be in the running for Parise as he is a native of Minnesota. Stay tuned.
