The Florida Panthers have acquired Wojtek Wolski from the New York Rangers in exchange for Mike Vernace and a 2013 third round pick. Wolski has spent lots of time this season in the press box, but he should get an opportunity to prove himself with the Panthers. Several of Florida's forwards are currently sidelined, so Jerred Smithson, who the Panthers acquired on Friday, and Wolski should provide them with some much needed depth. Wolski would have some fantasy value if he's given a chance to serve as a top-six forward, but we can't recommend picking him up until we see where he fits into the Panthers' lineup.

Wojtek Wolski has been a healthy scratch since Jan. 15. Wolski has only logged a total of 28:30 minutes over three games since being activated off of the injured reserve list on Jan. 3. If the Rangers add a forward via a trade before the deadline, Wolski could be the logical candidate to put on waivers to make room.

Wojtek Wolski has been recalled from his two-week conditioning stint in the minors. In six games with Connecticut, he notched three goals and two assists. Wolski may draw back into the Rangers' lineup on Thursday night with Ruslan Fedotenko doubtful because of a head injury.

Wojtek Wolski has accepted a two-week conditioning assignment in the AHL. He has appeared in just nine games with the Rangers this season and has been a healthy scratch for the past six contests. Wolski has been the subject of trade rumors, but the return will probably not be a good one given his struggles and his contract which carries a salary cap hit of $3.8 million.

Wojtek Wolski was a healthy scratch for a sixth straight game on Wednesday. The Rangers are reportedly looking to deal Polish forward. He has three assists in nine games this year.

Wojtek Wolski failed to register a point and had a -3 rating in the New York Rangers' 4-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens. Wolski has been back with the Rangers for three games, but nights like these could make him a healthy scratch or earn him a minor league demotion in no time. Either way, he doesn't have much fantasy value, even though he started the campaign with a lot of promise as he had a chance to line up with Marian Gaborik and Brad Richards.

Rangers coach John Tortorella says he's thinking about sending Wojtek Wolski (hernia) to the minors for conditioning. Wolski, who has 91 career NHL goals, has not played since Nov. 3 against Anaheim due to a sports hernia and the thinking is he would benefit from a stint with Connecticut in the AHL. Tortorella is also leaning in that direction as it regards Erik Christenson, who has frequently been a healthy scratch.

Wojtek Wolski (sports hernia) is ready to play, but he has to work his way back into the Rangers' lineup. "I've got to play the way I played two years ago," Wolski said. He had a career-high 23 goals and 65 points in 2009-10. He's certainly capable of putting up big numbers in the second half of the season if he gets a chance to play on one of the Rangers' top two lines. It's worth keeping a close eye on this situation.

Rangers forward Wojtek Wolski is nearing a return to the lineup, but he will not play in Monday's Winter Classic. Wolski is recovering from hernia surgery and has been back at practice of late, but fantasy owners will need to wait a little longer before re-activating him.

Wojtek Wolski (groin) skated alongside extras Sean Avery and Erik Christensen at practice Tuesday. The Rangers already have a logjam up front and Wolski's return will force some decisions from coach John Tortorella, who appears to be reluctant to change his winning formula. "I'm not sure," said the Rangers' bench boss. "We've got some guys playing really well right now, and I'm not sure what's going to happen with that." Wolski hasn't played since Nov. 3, but he is getting closer to being ready to return from sports hernia surgery.
