The defender was brought up a week ago for team depth, and didn't hit the ice at all in his brief NHL stint. If the Devils need another body down the road, Mozik is a likely call up candidate, but he won't be a fantasy player worth snagging right away.

So far this season, the Devils have turned to Steve Santini as their seventh defender but appear to be going in a different direction with Mozik. The 23-year-old played in seven games for New Jersey last season in which he failed to record a point, but did snag six shots on goal, four PIM and dished out 12 hits. Barring a last minute injury, Mozik will likely be a healthy scratch, so little need for fantasy owners to snatch him off the waiver wire.

Mozik played in seven games with the Devils in 2015-16, notching six shots on goal and four penalty minutes over his short sample. The 23-year-old Czech Republic native doesn't provide a ton of offensive support (just 17 points in 53 games with Albany last season) but he did post a plus-28 rating with the minor league affiliate last season.

Mozik joined the Albany affiliate in 2015-16 after formerly playing in a Czech league. Over 49 games this season, the blueliner has accumulated 13 points (two goals, 11 assists), but a plus-26 rating is the most impressive stat for the 23-year-old blueliner. However, it's unlikely he will see consistent playing time at the NHL level, so he can safely be avoided in fantasy leagues.
