Trocheck (ankle) is showing up on injured reserve, per the NHL's official media site.

EDGE Analysis

Trocheck has no timetable for his return. The prolific offensive producer underwent surgery this past Wednesday to repair his fractured ankle, so the Cats will have to continue relying more on the likes of Jared McCan and Juho Lammikko in the bottom six, while Aleksander Barkov and Nick Bjugstad operate on the scoring lines as usual.

Trocheck underwent surgery to repair a fractured ankle and is out indefinitely.

EDGE Analysis

While Trocheck faces a long recovery, it's certainly a good sign that the team is still expecting him to be available before the end of the season. If the Panthers can make the playoffs -- they are currently last in the Atlantic Division -- the return of the all-star center would certainly bolster their chances of making a deep run. While the transaction hasn't officially happened, Trocheck will no doubt be placed on injured reserve soon.

Trocheck will require surgery on his injured leg and is expected to be out long term, per Darren Dreger of TSN.

EDGE Analysis

While the team has yet to provide an update, the fact that Trocheck had to be stretched off the ice, combined with the need for surgery, would seem to indicate the center is at risk of losing the rest of the 2018-19 campaign. Prior to getting hurt, the Pittsburgh native racked up 14 points in 18 games, although he was bogged down in an 11-game goal drought. Jared McCann will likely slot into a top-six role with Trocheck sidelined.

Trocheck (undisclosed) was taken out of the game in Ottawa on a stretcher Monday, George Richards of The Athletic reports.

EDGE Analysis

Trocheck took a nasty spill into the boards and stayed down, appearing to be in serious pain. The 25-year-old is likely going to miss some time with the injury and an update should be available after Monday's game.

Trocheck collected an assist during Sunday's 5-1 win over the Senators.

EDGE Analysis

The 25-year-old center now has four points in the last four games after cooling off from a hot start to the season. His linemates being solidified with Jonathan Huberdeau and Frank Vatrano seems to have helped his scoring after going through a line blender for most of the season. Trocheck now has 12 points through 14 games.

Trocheck had primary assists on each of the Panthers' last two goals as they topped the Oilers 4-1 on Thursday.

EDGE Analysis

Now with 11 points in 12 games, Trocheck is creeping back towards the point-per-game pace he was at during the first seven games of the season. As the Panthers continue to right the ship, Trocheck should continue to collect points on the power play.

Trocheck couldn't register a point as the Panthers fell 4-2 to the Jets on Thursday.

EDGE Analysis

Despite four shots on goal and almost five minutes of power play time, Trocheck was held scoreless as Connor Hellebyuck shut down the Panthers' offense. This marks the third straight game where Florida's second line center has been held off the board.

Trocheck recorded a goal, four shots on net and four hits in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Rangers.

EDGE Analysis

Trocheck opened scoring with a power-play goal late in the first period. He now has eight points through seven games, but he's successful even when he doesn't post a point, as he has 18 hits and 16 shots on goal in the last five games.

Trocheck is at a point-per-game pace but head coach Bob Boughner has rotated his wingers once again during Thursday's practice, Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press reports.

EDGE Analysis

Despite having four points through the first four games of the season, Trocheck has seen his line blended more than once. Mike Hoffman has been moved on and off the line, and during Wednesday's practice, Jonathan Huberdeau was moved to the fourth line. Now it looks as though Trocheck will slide to the wing as Colton Sceviour lines up in the center position for Friday's game against the Capitals.
