Zykov skated just nine shifts and saw ice time of just 4:41 in Saturday's 3-0 loss to the Golden Knights.
EDGE Analysis
Ouch. This was clearly Zykov's low point of the season thus far. After scoring an impressive 54 points in 63 games at AHL Charlotte last season, he has not yet been able to carve out a role for himself at the NHL level. For fantasy purposes, he still has a ton of upside, but consider him a work in progress for now.

Zykov is expected back in the lineup Saturday against the Wild after sitting out the previous two games as a healthy scratch.
EDGE Analysis
Zykov practiced on a line with Martin Necas and Brock McGinn on Thursday, and the trio will likely form the Canes' third line Saturday against the Wild. The 23-year-old Russian winger is hoping to rekindle some of the offensive flair he showed as a callup last season, scoring seven points in 10 games. His opportunities on the third line will be limited, but he could be moved up to more of a scoring role if he can make a positive impression on coach Rod Brind'Amour. He's worth keeping an eye on for fantasy purposes.

Zykov will be a healthy scratch for Sunday's showdown against the Rangers, Michael Smith of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie forward scored three goals and seven points in 10 NHL games last season, but has been held off the scoresheet in Carolina's first two games of the 2018-19 campaign. Zykov should slot into the lineup more often than not with the Hurricames focusing on working their prospects this season.

Zykov recorded a goal, an assist, and two power-play points during Friday's 5-1 win over the Capitals.
EDGE Analysis
Zykov was traded to the Hurricanes late last season and turned heads with three goals and seven points in 10 games with his new team. The 23-year-old is currently slated to start with Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov on what could be a potent second line for the Hurricanes. If he can maintain his scoring touch and garner enough minutes, the Russian winger possesses plenty of sleeper value and is worth a look in the later rounds of most formats.

Zykov signed a two-year, one -way deal with Carolina on Friday, setting him up to earn $650,000 in 2018-19 and $700,000 in 2019-20.
EDGE Analysis
Coming off a solid end to the 2017-18 NHL regular season-- three goals and four assists with a plus-5 rating in the final nine games-- Zykov is in position to earn a full-time spot on the Hurricanes' roster this season. In 2018, the winger was awarded the AHL's Willie Marshall trophy as the regular-season goal leader with 33 in 66 games, and has the ability to score which should prove valuable for the rebuilding team.

Zykov received a qualifying offer from the Hurricanes on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Zykov scored three goals and seven points in 10 NHL games last year, but also netted 33 goals in 63 AHL contests. The 23-year-old forward will have a chance at making the NHL squad right out of the gate next season if Carolina re-signs him. Zykov also totaled four goals and six points in eight AHL postseason appearances.

Zykov was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Sunday, per the official TSN transaction log.
EDGE Analysis
Although Zykov just played in 10 NHL games this season, he made the most of his opportunity, scoring seven points (three goals, four assists) and going plus-four in his second glimpse of professional action. The 22-year-old was sent down to be a part of AHL Charlotte's chase for the Calder Cup, and should be a training camp favorite to make Carolina's roster in 2018-19.

Zykov tallied an assist during Friday's 4-1 over the Capitals.
EDGE Analysis
Zykov has been red hot since his recall from the minors with three goals and six points in as many games. More notably, the 22-year-old winger is meshing well with offensive heavyweights Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen. If the trio are united come the start of 2018-19, the Russian playmaker could hold some legitimate sleeper value for next season so keep an eye on him in the later rounds of your upcoming fantasy drafts.

Zykov notched two goals in Thursday's 6-5 home win over the Coyotes.
EDGE Analysis
The Russian prospect went top shelf in the first period and ultimately provided the equalizer in the third frame. Originally selected by the Kings with a second-round (37th overall) draft pick in 2013, Zykov could be huge for fantasy owners down the stretch. Not only is he expected to play meaningful minutes with the Hurricanes out of playoff contention, but Victor Rask (shoulder) is out for the season and that has opened up a spot on the power play for the 22-year-old winger.

Zykov was recalled from AHL Charlotte on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
With his promotion, Zykov becomes the 13th forward on the Canes' roster. Now that Carolina's chances of making the postseason have dwindled, the organization could see this as an opportunity to give Zykov a consistent run of play in the NHL. The 22-year-old Russian suited up in two games and scored a goal for Carolina last season, but has only played for AHL Charlotte in 2017-18. Over 61 games in the AHL, Zykov leads the league with 32 goals.
