Strachan's professional tryout agreement was terminated by Arizona on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
The big, stay-at-home defenseman spent the vast majority of the past two seasons in the minors and with this development, it appears that he'll be playing in the AHL in 2017-18. In a league that increasingly values speed and skill, it's difficult to imagine the 32-year-old Strachan getting another chance in the NHL.

Strachan will take part in training camp with Arizona, NHL Roster Resource reports.
EDGE Analysis
Strachan spent the entire 2016-17 campaign with AHL Rochester where he logged 61 contests and tallied one goal and 11 helpers. Spread across eight seasons, the blueliner has played in 186 NHL games for five different clubs. With Jakob Chychrun (knee) still working his way back from injury, Strachan could earn a permanent deal to bolster the Yotes' blue line.

Strachan was released from camp Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Strachan was signed to a tryout and and trying to get a contract with the Sabres. He currently is on an AHL-only deal with AHL Rochester, and if the Sabres are in need of extra bodies on defense will give him first look. For now, Strachan is depth for the Sabres organization and their AHL affiliate.

Strachan (ankle) is expected to skate Friday, the Olean Times Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
The ankle injury sidelined Strachan for a week and he will likely dress in Buffalo's final preseason game in Ottawa for a final chance to impress the coaches. However, the 31-year-old journeyman may have a chance to keep a roster spot if Rasmus Ristolainen remains unsigned, and if Dmitry Kulikov (back) and Zach Bogosian (groin) aren't ready to go. Still, his fantasy value is virtually nil.

Fedun resumed skating Saturday after dealing with an ankle injury.
EDGE Analysis
Fedun's ankle injury was minor and didn't keep him off the ice for long. The journeyman defenseman is fighting for a roster spot, but will likely begin the season with AHL Rochester.

Strachan is dealing with an ankle injury.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear at this point when Strachan sustained the ailment. Either way, the 31-year-old defenseman was an unlikely candidate to make the Opening Night roster and this recent setback may assure that he'll begin the season in the AHL.

Strachan has been recalled by the Wild, Michael Russo of the Star-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Strachan was summoned to the parent club as the result of Ryan Carter (hand) going on injured reserve Tuesday. Strachan is a 31-year-old journeyman who has played for five different NHL clubs, including the Wild. He won't help you out in the points department, but Strachan is not afraid to draw penalties based on 199 PIM in 186 games.

Strachan was reassigned to AHL Iowa on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The 31-year old journeyman was scoreless in the two games he played for Minnesota during his recall, but will make his way down to the minors to make room for recently recalled Mike Reilly. Strachan may receive another recall before the end of the season, but with one goal and 20 points in 186 career games, he isn't a viable fantasy option.

Strachan has been recalled from the minors, Michael Russo of the Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
What a nice way to start the New Year for Strachan, who has appeared in 31 games with AHL Iowa this season. He's known as a physical blueliner, but that hasn't translated to much offense in his professional career. Strachan has just 20 points in 184 NHL games between the Blues, Panthers, Capitals and Sabres. He has yet to make his debut with the Wild.
