Rask has been a mixed bag so far, as he's compiled a 2-2-0 record, albeit with a 4.08 GAA and .875 save percentage. His latest win included 32 saves against a Detroit team that had been ravaged by injuries on the blue line. The Finn will now face a Canucks squad that ranks fourth in shooting percentage (12.8) but only 17th in scoring (3.29 goals per game) and 30th in shots attempted per game (25.6).

Rask allowed four goals on 28 shots Wednesday, in a 5-2 loss against the Flames.

EDGE Analysis

Wednesday's game marked the third time in four starts where Rask has given up three or more goals. On the season, he's posted a .875 save percentage and a goals-against-average over four. While it's still early, the Finnish netminder has not been good thus far and yet, has still managed to pick up two wins. He'll likely get the night off Thursday when the Bruins visit Edmonton on the second half of a back-to-back.

Rask will start Wednesday's road game against the Flames.

Meanwhile, Jaroslav Halak will get the nod Thursday night against the Oilers. Rask's results have improved in each of his three starts (the last two yielded wins) and working in his favor is that the surging Bruins have outscored their opponents 22-6 over the team's last four outings.

Rask's numbers still look ugly due to his disastrous Opening Night performance in Washington (five goals allowed on 19 shots in 27:28), but he's won both of his subsequent starts while allowing a total of five goals. Veteran backup Jaroslav Halak is off to a strong start, but there's no goalie controversy brewing in Boston given Rask's last two results.

Rask will guard the net in Saturday's home tilt versus the Red Wings.

Rask will get an early-season breather, as Jaroslav Halak takes the crease for Thursday's matchup with Edmonton. It has been a difficult start to the year for Rask, as he is 1-1-0 with a 5.52 GAA and .840 save percentage. While it's too early to write off the Finn, those numbers would both represent a career worst if they drag on throughout the 2018-19 campaign.

Rask faced 31 shots Monday, allowing three goals in Boston's 6-3 win over Ottawa.

EDGE Analysis

The Finnish-born netminder got back on track after a disastrous first start of the season that saw him allow five goals on 19 shots before being pulled. Rask was his usual self Monday and should continue getting the majority of starts for the Bruins.

Rask will start Monday's game versus the Senators, Joe Haggerty of NBC Sports Boston reports.

EDGE Analysis

Rask will look to put an uncharacteristic performance on Opening Night behind him, as he allowed five goals on 19 shots before being yanked in a loss to the Capitals. The Senators, who are fully in rebuild mode, are a more favorable matchup, which should make Rask a top fantasy option once again.

Rask will start in goal Wednesday, facing the Capitals in the road opener.

Rask posted a 34-14-5 record, 2.36 GAA and .917 save percentage in the regular season of 2017-18, but his save mark -- which is considered the best indicator of a goalie's individual performance -- shrinked to a .903 value in the postseason. The Finnish veteran reportedly will cede Thursday's road start versus the Sabres to Islanders castoff Jaroslav Halak.

Rask stopped 20 of 24 shots in Saturday's 4-1 preseason loss to the Flyers.

EDGE Analysis

The 31-year-old wasn't at his best, but he also may not have been quite 100 percent after dealing with an illness earlier in the week. Rask should be fine heading into the regular season, as he looks to win more than 30 games for the sixth straight campaign.

Rask (illness) didn't end up playing in Tuesday's road game versus the Flyers, but Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said he's expected to start against them Saturday.

EDGE Analysis

The Bruins went with Dan Vladar as a sub for Rask on Tuesday and then handed the reins to Jaroslav Halak in Wednesday's clash with Detroit to complete a back-to-back set. Rask owns a tidy .969 save percentage and correspondingly minuscule 0.94 GAA through two preseason contests.
