Brouwer is also getting significant time on the team's primary power-play unit and getting chances with the man advantage. Given that he's available in mid to late rounds, Brouwer has significant sleeper upside as the regular season approaches, and is worth a flier in all fantasy drafts.

Brouwer finished with a goal and an assist to go along with three SOG in 18:00 of ice-time during the Capitals' 5-4 loss to the Flyers on Monday. Both of Brouwer's points came on the power-play. He played on an even-strength line with Evgeny Kuznetsov, believed to have the inside track on the team's second-line center job. It's looking like Brouwer will be a fixture on a scoring line in DC this coming season, giving the power-forward some sleeper potential in deeper leagues.

Troy Brouwer scored a pair of goals for the Capitals as part of a 5-2 win over Carolina Thursday night. The two tallies give him 25 on the season, good for a career-best and the first time he has reached the quarter-century mark in his career. Eric Fehr and Jason Chimera also enjoyed good nights with a goal and two assists apiece while Joel Ward also counted in the victory.

Troy Brouwer scored two goals but the Washington Capitals took a 4-3 shootout loss against the Predators in Nashville Sunday night. Brouwer now has 24 goals on the season. Assisting on both of Brouwer's goals was Nicklas Backstrom, who also scored the Caps' other goal. Backstrom now has 59 assists and 14 goals on the season.

For the second time in his NHL career, Washington Capitals power forward Troy Brouwer reached the 20-goal mark. He scored twice on Sunday in the Capitals' 4-2 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs to do so. Brouwer scored 22 goals and 40 points in 2009-10 and has a chance to match or exceed both totals this season (20G, 34P so far). He generates plenty of hits and PIM, too, making him a fantastic asset who's only owned in 47 percent of Yahoo leagues right now.

Brouwer has struggled to find the net this year after a strong 2013 campaign, but has as good a chance as he'll ever have to get back on track tonight playing big minutes with Nicklas Backstrom.

Troy Brouwer scored Washington's lone goal in a 2-1 shootout loss to Buffalo on Sunday night. His eighth marker of the season was assisted by Mikhail Grabovski. Brouwer posted five of Washington's 50 shots in the contest, but they couldn't solve Sabres' starter Ryan Miller.

Brouwer had 19 goals and 33 points during the truncated 2012-13 season and averaged a career high 18:32 minutes of action in 47 games. But it has been a completely different story this season as he has only five goals although four have come on the power play. He has had a bunch of centers this season after relying on Mike Ribeiro last season and that could be hurting his production.
