Torey Krug found the back of the net in his NHL playoff debut Thursday night. He also posted three hits and three shots in the Bruins' 3-2 overtime win over the Rangers. Krug was thrust into action due to injuries and he played well during his 16:41 of ice time. He got to play because Boston didn't have veterans Dennis Seidenberg, Andrew Ference and Wade Redden available.

Boston Bruins recall Torey Krug from AHL Providence. The Bruins are dealing with a ton of injuries on the blueline, Dennis Seidenberg (leg) and Andrew Ference (undisclosed). Coach Claude Julien didn't have an update on Seidenberg, who played just 37 seconds in Monday's Game 7 win over the Bruins. Krug has been up to Boston before this season and will likely serve in a reserve capacity unless Boston's blueline ailments worsen.

Torey Krug was sent back down to the AHL on Friday night. The Bruins thought they had a deal done to acquire Jarome Iginla, so that's why he had been brought up. Krug had an assist in 15:57 on Wednesday. Boston will continue to work the phone lines for deals, so there's always the chance Krug is up again very soon.

Torey Krug was recalled Wednesday, and he has been inserted into the lineup against the Canadiens. The 21-year-old blueliner has been a very productive player in the AHL this season with 10 goals and 24 assists in 55 games. Matt Bartkowski is a healthy scratch.

Defenseman prospect Torey Krug is not exactly setting the AHL on fire. The former NCAA star, who is hoping to start the season in Boston when and if the NHL lockout ends, has registered only six points in 20 games for the Providence Bruins. He is also a team-low minus nine. Krug is going to have to pick those numbers up if he wants to crack the Boston roster anytime soon.

Torey Krug wants to stick around at the NHL level next year after getting a taste of the big time last season in two appearances with the Boston Bruins. "It makes you hungrier," he said. "It's been my dream my whole life, as a little kid. You change, you grow, you become a better person and you work toward your goals. My goal is to play in the NHL. I played two games there, but now I want to make a career out of it and be an impact player. It gives me a lot of incentive to come back." He could get a job as a depth defender, but he may also start the year in the minors.
