Dan Bylsma said he knows who will start in goal for Wednesday's Game 3 but wouldn't tell me the media who he is. Bylsma yanked Tomas Vokoun for Marc-Andre Fleury after Vokoun allowed three goals in the first period Monday night. Fleury didn't do much to spark the Pens, allowing three goals of his own over the rest of the game. We think he'll end up going back to Vokoun but likely won't know anything even close to official until pregame warmups Wednesday night.

Pittsburgh coach Dan Bylsma didn't point any fingers at Tomas Vokoun after Game 2's 6-1 loss Monday night. Vokoun was pulled after allowing three goals on 12 shots. "It's tough," Bylsma said. "I don't think there's a lot of fault in those three goals by the goaltender. It's tough to evaluate, given the breakdowns and the scoring chances they scored on." Marc-Andre Fleury didn't spark the Penguins in relief and surrendered three goals on 17 shots. It would make sense if Bylsma went back to Vokoun for Game 3, but since he doesn't discuss lineup changes it may not be clear who will start until close to puck drop on Wednesday night. Stay tuned.

Pittsburgh Penguins coach Dan Bylsma pulled Tomas Vokoun after he allowed three goals in the first period Monday night. It's hard to blame Vokoun for the rough first period, which featured bad turnovers by Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang on the Bruins' first and second goals, respectively. Bylsma went back to the much-criticized Marc-Andre Fleury, who allowed Boston's fourth goal on a snipe from Brad Marchand with less than 10 seconds left in the first period. It's too early to count the Penguins out, but a 2-0 series deficit heading back to Boston would be a very difficult thing to overcome for Pittsburgh.

Tomas Vokoun will play between the pipes in Game 2 on Monday. Penguins coach Dan Bylsma admitted that he considered going back to Marc-Andre Fleury, but Vokoun has been great for Pittsburgh so far. He had a 1.98 GAA and .937 save percentage in eight playoff contests. Regardless of who plays between the pipes, the Penguins obviously need to find a way to beat Boston's defense and goaltender Tuukka Rask in order to even the series.

Penguins coach Dan Bylsma defended Tomas Vokoun after Game 1. Vokoun stopped 27 of 30 shots in the 3-0 loss. "Tomas, I thought, played real well in the game, was strong in the game, made big saves," Bylsma said. That doesn't necessarily mean that Bylsma will go with Vokoun on Monday, but it does seem likely.

Tomas Vokoun turned aside 27 of 30 shots in a 3-0 loss to the Boston Bruins. Vokoun allowed two goals on 13 shots in the third period. This is just the second game the Penguins have lost since Vokoun took over for Marc-Andre Fluery. There's certainly a chance that Pittsburgh will go back to Fluery for Game 2, but it's more likely that they'll stick with Vokoun.

In his 15-year career, Tomas Vokoun had never advanced past the first round of the playoffs until this season. It is true that he played on some pretty bad Florida and Nahsville teams but it is telling. For what it is worth, Pens' GM Ray Shero is firmly behind his goaltender. "He's been one of the better goaltenders in the National Hockey League," Shero said. "He was just playing in Nashville and Florida for a long time", two of the NHL's smallest markets. Vokoun will have to be at his best to hold off a Bruins' squad that seems to be very confident now.

Pittsburgh Penguins GM Ray Shero isn't sure what would have happened if Tomas Vokoun didn't replace Marc-Andre Fluery in Game 5 of the first round. Vokoun has proven to be a great addition to the Penguins roster. After Fleury faltered early in the playoffs, Vokoun has stepped up with a 1.85 GAA and .941 save percentage in seven starts. He's expected to play between the pipes in the opener of the Eastern Conference finals.

As far as Tomas Vokoun is concerned, he might be just one stumble away from losing the starting job. Since replacing Marc-Andre Fluery, Vokoun has posted a 1.85 GAA and .941 save percentage in seven starts. That's helped push the Penguins to the Eastern Conference finals, but it hasn't made Vokoun comfortable. "I don't look at it any different than I (did) before the first game," he said. "Once you stumble, you never know what's going to happen. It doesn't matter. I'm part of the team, and we're here to win, so whoever's in net and whatever's going on, as long as we're winning, that's the most important thing."

The hot streak experienced by Tomas Vokoun in the playoffs actually dates back to the regular season. Not only does Vokoun possess a 7-1 record in eight postseason contests, but he's actually 16-2 dating back to March 2nd. His experience as a starting NHL net minder has served him well and Penguins GM Ray Shero looks very wise for having brought him into the fold.
