Winnipeg Jets defenseman Tobias Enstrom will play for EC Red Bull Salzburg of the Austrian League during the lockout. It was thought that the Swedish blueliner would return to his native Sweden but alas, that is not to be. Enstrom signed a five-year extension with the Jets in the off-season and the 27-year-old is considered one of the key pieces on the team. He had six goals and 33 points in 62 games during the 2011-12 season after back-to-back 50-plus point seasons, so look for Enstrom to bounce back to elite rearguard production if he is able to play a full season.

There is a very good chance that Tobias Enstrom will sign a contact to play with Modo of the Swedish Elite League. This according to Swedish newspaper Expressen. The same report also suggested that the Blues' Alexander Steen was also interested in signing with Modo. Modo is Peter Forsberg's former team one that he is still involved with as his father. We can certainly understand Modo's lure for current NHLers.

Tobias Enstrom's contract extension is a five-year deal. Enstrom is now locked up through the 2017-18 season, but the financial terms are still not available. That being said, it's likely he got a significant boost over his current $3.75 million annual cap hit. Enstrom has gotten at least 32 points in each of his five NHL seasons and he has already reached the 50-point mark twice.

Tobias Enstrom has reportedly agreed to a mutli-year extension. The terms of Enstrom's deal are not yet known, but he would have been an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2013. After reaching the 50-point mark in back-to-back seasons, Enstrom regressed mildly in 2011-12 with six goals and 33 points in 62 games. He should bounce back in 2012-13 if he can stay healthy.

Tobias Enstrom will play the final year of his current contract during the 2012-13 season. GM Kevin Cheveldayoff is in need of some help at the forward position and a top-six center could probably be acquired in a trade that could include Enstrom. This is merely speculation though because it's unlikely that the Jets are shopping the offensive defender. However, it could make for an interesting story around deadline day depending on the team's situation and where the two sides are in their negotiations.

Tobias Enstrom scored his fifth goal of the season and added an assist in the Jets 5-3 loss to the Calgary Flames. Enstrom hasn't been as good as last season, where he put up 51 points, but he has been an adequate fantasy performer when he has been in the line-up. He isn't much of a goal scorer, good for 6-12 goals a season, but he is a brilliant playmaker that sees the ice extremely well. He is one of the best fantasy defensemen in the NHL when healthy, but this season hasn't been a good example of that.

Tobias Enstrom was the only goal scorer for Winnipeg in a 5-1 loss to New Jersey Tuesday. Enstrom's goal was his third of the campaign and his second in as many games. Nik Antropov and Kyle Wellwood drew assists on the marker.

Tobias Enstrom (broken collarbone) has begun to participate in contact drills. Enstrom won't play on Tuesday, but we're beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. He has six points and 10 penalty minutes in 11 games this season.
