It is clearly not Tim Thomas' fault that the defending Stanley Cup Champion Bruins are in tight series with the eight-seeded Capitals. Thomas has stopped 54 of 56 Washington shots over two games and allowed his first goal in over 161 minutes in the playoffs including last season, Saturday night. He has also been his old combative self, giving Caps' forward Nicklas Backstrom a few shots with his blocker during a goal mouth scramble in the Bruins 2-1 double-overtime loss Saturday. It will be interesting to see how Thomas is received and how he responds in Washington given his White House remarks earlier in the season.

Tim Thomas saved 37 of 39 shots in a 2-1 double overtime loss Saturday. Thomas was great, but he can only do so much. The series is now tied at 1-1 going into Game 3 in Washington. So far, the Bruins' biggest concern hasn't been their goaltending, it's been how much difficulty they've had solving Washington netminder Braden Holtby.

Tim Thomas notched his fifth career playoff shutout as the Boston Bruins edged the Washington Capitals 1-0 in overtime Thursday night in Game 1 of their first-round series. Overall, Thomas wasn't tested all that much, as he was called on to make 17 saves, but he did need to make nine in the final frame -- a number of them big ones -- when his teammates only had three. Overall, it's his fourth win over his last five games.

Tim Thomas stopped 25 shots and all three in the shootout as the Boston Bruins defeated the Buffalo Sabres 4-3 Saturday. Thomas finished the season with 35 wins, a .920 save percentage and a 2.36 GAA to stay a number one goalie in fantasy pools, albeit a lower end one this season after a sensational 2010-11 season. He is worth grabbing in playoff pools if you think the Bruins are going deep into the playoffs.

Tim Thomas is slated to get another rest day on Thursday after he didn't accompany his teammates to Ottawa. Thursday's contest will mark a second straight time that Thomas has been given a game completely off, as Marty Turco and Anton Khudobin made the trip. Adjust your goalies accordingly.

Tim Thomas got Tuesday completely off, as Marty Turco and Anton Khudobin dressed as Boston's goaltenders in a 5-3 loss to Pittsburgh. "We're going to give him some rest," coach Claude Julien said. "He's done a great job for us down the stretch and this is an opportunity to give him some rest. But at the same time, we're going to continue to work with him so he's fine-tuned for the playoffs." Thomas had appeared in 18 of the team's previous 20 games, so a night where he doesn't have to prepare himself to play could've done him some good.

Tim Thomas stopped 33 of 34 shots in a 2-1 victory over the Rangers Sunday. Thomas is enjoying another solid season and although his numbers aren't in Vezina Trophy-territory he's been plenty valuable.

Tim Thomas was sturdy between the pipes Saturday night versus the Los Angeles Kings, kicking away 40 in the Boston Bruins' 4-2 win. Thomas has recently gone through a rough stretch, but he's returned to form over his last four starts, none better than this one. He's allowed six goals total and has three wins over these four outings. With the Ottawa Senators winning, this was a huge victory for the Boston Bruins, who stay three points up in first place in the Northeast Division.
