According to Tim Panaccio of CSNPhilly.com, the Flyers are out on free agent goalie Tim Thomas. He said Philadelphia is looking at Ray Emery and Evgeni Nabokov, but Johan Hedberg is a possibility and in a separate tweet he said they are still talking about acquiring Jaroslav Halak from St. Louis

Tim Thomas' agent, Bill Zito, reached out to the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday, sources tell CSN Philly's Tim Panaccio. Thomas was reportedly "intrigued" by the Flyers a few days ago, but Philly has since spent what little cap space it had on center Vincent Lecavalier. The Flyers are expected to clear some room by dealing a defenseman, but that may not create enough room to afford Thomas.

Three teams have reached out to Tim Thomas, according to ESPN's Pierre LeBrun. LeBrun didn't name the three teams, but it's a good bet the Flyers are one of them. Thomas is reportedly "intrigued" by Philly but is unsure if he's a good fit there. Thomas has decided to return to the NHL after taking a year away from the game. It's unclear who else is interested, but his agent did say Europe is also a possibility.

Tim Thomas is "intrigued" by the Philadelphia Flyers but isn't certain if he's a good fit there, sources close to the netminder tell CSN Philly's Tim Panaccio. Thomas' agent, Bill Zito, confirmed Monday that his client is interested in returning to professional hockey next season. The Islanders declined to toll Thomas' contract, which will make him an unrestricted free agent, but it's unclear where Thomas would like to play. The Flyers had interest in acquiring Thomas a few years back and currently have an opening after announcing Ilya Bryzgalov will be bought out. Thomas also reportedly will consider Europe if the NHL doesn't offer what he's looking for.

Tim Thomas' agent, Bill Zito, has announced that his client is interested in returning to action next season. Zito commented via Twitter that, "Tim Thomas has asked me to explore possible options for next season. We'll have no further comment at this time. Thanks." Thomas will be an unrestricted free agent on July 5. TSN's Bob McKenzie reported back in May that the New York Islanders would not be tolling his contract. It's also worth noting that CBC's Elliotte Friedman said a return to Europe could be a possibility for Thomas depending on what offers he gets from NHL clubs.

Tim Thomas hasn't made a decision yet on a potential NHL comeback. Agent Bill Zito reportedly told CBC's Elliotte Friedman that everything was "status quo" for his client and a decision has not been made. Friedman added that sources have said that Thomas is considering playing again, but he's not sure if it will be in North America or Europe. Thomas will be eligible for unrestricted free agency next month.

According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, the New York Islanders won't be "tolling" the contract of Tim Thomas. That means he will become an unrestricted free agent this summer and can sign anywhere if he chooses. Thomas decided to take the 2012-13 season, which was shortened by the lockout, off but said he was interested in playing in 2013-14. His rights were acquired by the Islanders in exchange for a conditional draft pick.

Tim Thomas' agent says nothing has changed with his client despite the New York Islanders' decision to demote Rick DiPietro. Thomas is expected to sit out the entire season but was traded to the Isles earlier in February in a financially motivated move. "Nothing's changed," Bill Zito told the Boston Globe. "I got a lot of calls and e-mails last week when (the Islanders) put (Rick) DiPietro on waivers. But nothing's changed with Timmy." Nothing to see here.

Tim Thomas is "comfortable" with the trade to the Islanders, according to Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli. Thomas is still expected to sit out the season, and though there are rumors that indicate he'd only return to the NHL with the Bruins, he'll have to change his tune there if he does play hockey again, which Chiarelli says he's "contemplating." "I spoke with Tim to make him aware of this trade and he understood. He knew that this was the type of thing that I had talked to him about earlier on in the summer and in the fall, that this could happen," said Chiarelli. "He was comfortable with it and he sounded quite at peace with himself. [It was a] brief conversation, but I just wanted to talk a little bit about Tim because he was an important member of this team."

The acquisition of Tim Thomas will only cost the New York Islanders a draft pick if he actually reports to them. In other words, if Thomas doesn't play, the Islanders don't have to give up a second rounder. The question now is if the Islanders will toll his contract in the hope that he decides to play in the 2013-14 campaign. As it is, the odds of Thomas returning this season are slim to none.
