Greiss stopped 36 of 39 shots during Saturday's 5-3 win over the Lightning.

EDGE Analysis

The German netminder is starting to claw his way back from an inconsistent start to the season with four wins in his last five starts. Greiss seems to have wrested the top spot on the Islanders' goaltending depth chart, so fantasy owners hope that a heavy workload will get him back on track, but make sure your expectations are reasonable when he guards the cage.

Greiss will start in the blue paint against host Tampa Bay on Saturday, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

EDGE Analysis

We'll get to the point in saying that you should avoid using Greiss if at all possible Saturday. He'll be pitted against a Lightning squad that boasts the league's top offense (four goals per game) and shooting percentage (12.4), plus the Bolts have rattled off five straight wins and own an 8-1-1 record at Amalie Arena. The German backstop will be searching for his third straight victory, but he's posted ho-hum peripherals -- including a 3.00 GAA and .913 save percentage -- over that mini streak.

Greiss allowed four goals on 32 shots during Thursday's 6-4 win over Carolina.

EDGE Analysis

While this wasn't a strong showing, Greiss entered in solid form with just two goals allowed in consecutive games and now sports a 5-2-2 record. Unfortunately, he owns an underwhelming .902 save percentage and 3.37 GAA for the year and is splitting starts with Jaroslav Halak. As a result, the German backstop is more of a depth option in the majority of fantasy settings. He's definitely still worth considering when starting against a favorable opponent, though.

Greiss will be between the pipes for Thursday's home clash with Carolina.

EDGE Analysis

Greiss will make his fourth start in the Isles' last five outings versus the Hurricanes. In his previous three appearances, the netminder remains undefeated in regulation, but could be in for a heavy workload as Carolina is averaging 36.0 shots per game -- second highest in the league.

Greiss stopped 35 of 37 shots in Saturday's win over the Blues.

EDGE Analysis

Greiss stood on his head to shut down the Blues and pick up his fourth win of the season. He's had a rough start this year, but this performance is sure to earn him some more crease time moving forward. Greiss shares the crease with Jaroslav Halak, but if he can build off this victory, he could be one to look at moving forward. The 31-year-old owns a lackluster .905 save percentage, but neither him or Halak has taken command of the starting role, so this could be his chance to make a mark.

Greiss will defend the net for Saturday night's away game against the Blues, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

EDGE Analysis

With the Islanders' still very much employing a goalie-by-committee approach, Greiss will make just his eighth start of the season after Jaroslav Halak got lit up for a 5-0 loss to the Stars on Friday. Greiss hasn't been particularly better though, as the German keeper shows a .879 save percentage and 3.74 GAA through his last four starts.

Greiss stopped 23 of 25 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 overtime loss to Edmonton.

EDGE Analysis

Greiss got his team a point, but promptly gave up the overtime game-winner to Connor McDavid after just 38 seconds. While his team carried play with 37 shots in this one, Greiss still fell to 3-2-2. That respectable record masks an ugly 3.48 GAA and .898 save percentage.

Greiss will lay claim to the crease Tuesday against the Oilers, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

EDGE Analysis

The Isles have taken the revolving door approach in goal between Greiss and Jaroslav Halak through the early portions of the season, with neither netminder taking command of the blue paint. Greiss will attempt to take a step in the right direction Tuesday after surrendering four goals to the Avalanche in his last outing, facing a talented, young Oilers club that has surprisingly struggled to find the back of the net recently.

Greiss halted 31 shots in Sunday's 6-4 home win over the Avalanche.

EDGE Analysis

The German was in cruise control for most of the game, but rookie winger Alex Kerfoot potted a pair of late goals to give Greiss a paltry .886 save percentage in the victory. Still, a win is a win and now his record stands at 3-2-1 on the season.

Greiss will tend the twine for Sunday's matchup with Colorado.

EDGE Analysis

The German netminder has struggled mightily in 2017-18, posting an ugly 3.70 GAA and .898 save percentage, which resulted in losing the No. 1 job to Jaroslav Halak. That said, Greiss is a much better goaltender than his numbers indicate and will get back on track sooner or later. His opponents Sunday, the Colorado Avalanche, have been filling the net of late with 15 goals scored in their past three games and present a tough test for Greiss.
