Greiss made 10-of-13 saves in Monday's 3-1 loss to the Flyers.

EDGE Analysis

Greiss was in net for 30 minutes before being replaced by Jeremy Smith. He gave up three goals, including a pair of power-play scores by Shayne Gostisbehere. The 32-year-old will continue battling Robin Lehner for the No. 1 goaltender role with the Islanders.

Greiss will be the road starter against the Flyers on Monday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.

EDGE Analysis

Greiss is the nominal number one goalie for the Islanders, but that may not last long. The 32-year-old had a 3.82 GAA and .892 save percentage last season, which obviously won't cut it this year. However, at least for one preseason game, Greiss is starting over Robin Lehner, though Lehner should get his chance to start this preseason as well.

Greiss participated in an informal skate Thursday, Arthur Staple of The Athletic New York reports.

EDGE Analysis

Both Greiss and newcomer Robin Lehner (formerly with the Sabres) were present for the informal session. Those two are expected to duke it out for the right to be the No. 1 netminder to open the 2017-18 campaign. Greiss has plenty of experience as a starter and also as a backup, but he'll presumably have to be stellar in training camp after going 13-8-2 with a 3.82 GAA and .892 save percentage over 27 games last season.

Greiss saved 36 of 39 shots during Saturday's 4-3 overtime win against Detroit.

EDGE Analysis

Greiss started three of the final four games for the Islanders, and he allowed 11 total goals with an .895 save percentage. He's under contract through the 2019-20 campaign at $3,333,333 per season, so barring a major shakeup, he should see plenty of action again next year. While the German has been a serviceable fantasy asset in the past, and even for stretches this season, a lot would probably need to go Greiss' way for him to be anything over than a matchup-based option in 2018-19.

Greiss will guard the goal in Saturday's season finale against the Red Wings in Detroit.

EDGE Analysis

Greiss will look to close out the season on a high note Saturday after allowing four goals in each of his last two starts. The veteran netminder remains under contract for two more seasons, so he should resume his role for the club next season after attempting to take down a Red Wings club that has averaged just 2.61 goals per game int he second half.

Greiss saved 27 of 34 shots during Tuesday's 5-4 win over Philadelphia.

EDGE Analysis

The German has now allowed four goals in consecutive games with an .879 save percentage. He's posted a respectable 12-8-2 record for the year, but his ratios are cripplers (.890 save percentage and 3.86 GAA). The Islanders host the Rangers on Thursday and visit the Red Wings on Saturday, and even with both teams also eliminated from the playoffs, Greiss should probably be viewed as a risky start against both.

Greiss will guard the home goal Tuesday against the Flyers, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.

EDGE Analysis

Greiss showed some rust in his first game back from a long layoff, allowing four goals on 35 shots to take a loss against the Devils. The defeat dropped his record to just 11-8-2 on the season and his 3.85 GAA and .891 save percentage aren't exactly conducive to fantasy success either. Another rough night may await against a Flyers club scoring exactly three goals per game on the road this season.

Greiss made 31 saves Saturday in a 4-3 loss to New Jersey.

EDGE Analysis

Greiss looked sharp despite it being his first game back in six weeks. He's now 11-8-2.

Greiss will start in goal Saturday evening against host New Jersey.

EDGE Analysis

It's been a long time coming for Greiss, as a lower-body injury held him out the past 17 games. The German did dress for Friday's home contest against the Maple Leafs, though he wasn't needed as rookie Christopher Gibson went the distance despite allowing five goals on 32 shots. Greiss owns an 11-7-2 record, 3.84 GAA and .891 save percentage through 24 games this season.

Greiss (lower body) was activated from injured reserve Friday. According to Brian Compton of NHL.com, the German backstop is expected to serve as the backup to Christopher Gibson for the evening's home contest against the Maple Leafs.

EDGE Analysis

Greiss hasn't played since shutting out the Hurricanes on the road over a month ago. It's been a trying year for the German puck plugger, as he's been limited to 24 games with a 3.84 GAA and .891 save percentage counting as the worst ratios of his career -- not counting his early years when Greiss was merely a depth goalie.
