Skinner will patrol the blue paint in Thursday's home game versus Detroit, Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner has been middling at best since he recorded a 30-save shutout victory over the Kings on Jan. 13. In the four appearances since then, the 26-year-old netminder is 2-2-0 with a 2.80 GAA and .897 save percentage. Still, Skinner should see the bulk of the workload heading into the international break, with the exception being one leg of a back-to-back versus the Blues and Blackhawks on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.

Skinner (personal) returned to practice Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner was back on the ice with his teammates following the birth of his child. After sitting out versus Seattle on Monday, the 26-year-old netminder should reclaim his crease for Thursday's home clash with the Red Wings. In his last five outings, the Edmonton native is 3-2-0 with a 2.23 GAA and a .920 save percentage.

Skinner (personal) will not be in the lineup Monday versus the Kraken.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner and his wife, Chloe, welcomed their child into the world Monday. The Oilers signed Tyler Palmer of the University of Alberta to an amateur tryout Monday as a result of Skinner's absence. Calvin Pickard will start versus the Kraken, while Palmer will back him up. Skinner's next chance to return to the lineup will be Thursday against the Red Wings.

Skinner was not on the ice ahead of Monday's game versus Seattle while awaiting the birth of his child, Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Skinner away, the Oilers will roll with Calvin Pickard in net against the Kraken for Monday's home contest. At this point, it's probably a game-time decision whether Skinner will link up with the team to serve as the backup or if the club will recall a goalie, likely Collin Delia, from the minors for Monday's matchup.

Skinner made 39 saves in a 3-2 win over the Sabres on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner had an easy first period with just five shots, but Alex Tuch ripped one off his glove late in that frame to put Buffalo up. The Sabres turned up the heat in the second and third frames, but Jiri Kulich was the only guy to beat Skinner, and it took a man advantage to solve him. Skinner is 6-3-0 in his last nine starts, allowing 19 goals and posting a .922 save percentage. Even with this strong run, Skinner's save percentage this season remains low at .902, which could make him an intriguing buy-low candidate despite his improved play.

Skinner will protect the home net against the Sabres on Saturday, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner has lost his last two outings, allowing six goals on 41 shots. He has posted a record of 18-11-3 with two shutouts, a 2.71 GAA and an .899 save percentage through 32 appearances this season. Buffalo is tied for 13th in the league with 3.02 goals per game in 2024-25.

Skinner stopped 11 of 14 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Capitals.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner allowed three goals for the third straight game, but this was the lowest number of shots he's faced in a start where he wasn't pulled this season. The Oilers needed him to make a save or two and he wasn't up to the task, losing for the third time in five outings. He's now 18-11-3 with a 2.71 GAA and an .899 save percentage through 32 starts. He's yet to start more than three games in a row all year, so it wouldn't be surprising for Calvin Pickard to get the nod against the Canucks on Thursday, especially since Skinner lost to them by a 3-2 score Saturday.

Skinner will protect the home goal against the Capitals on Tuesday, Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner is set to start a third straight game for the first time since Dec. 14-19. He's allowed six goals while going 1-1-0 over his last two outings. He'll have a particularly tough task Tuesday, as the Capitals are in first place in the NHL while the Oilers will be without captain Connor McDavid (suspension).

Skinner stopped 24 of 27 shots in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Canucks.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner took just his second loss over six outings in January, though he's allowed at least three goals in three of those games. The 26-year-old gave up all of the goals in the first period, and the Oilers' offense struggled to do much outside of a pair of Leon Draisaitl tallies in the middle frame. Skinner is down to 18-10-3 with a 2.70 GAA and a .901 save percentage over 31 appearances. The Oilers return home to face the Capitals on Tuesday.

Skinner will defend the road crease against Vancouver on Saturday, according to Tony Brar of Oilers TV.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner is 5-1-0 in his last six starts, giving up 11 goals on 163 shots (.933 save percentage). He allowed five in his lone loss during that stretch. Skinner is 18-9-3 with two shutouts, a 2.69 GAA and a .902 save percentage in 30 games this season. The Canucks sit 22nd in the league with 2.84 goals per game in 2024-25.
