Skinner stopped 23 of 28 shots in Wednesday's 6-2 loss to the Kings in Game 2.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner made it about halfway through the third period before he was replaced by Calvin Pickard, who allowed the sixth and final goal against. With 11 goals allowed on 58 shots over two playoff contests, Skinner simply isn't getting the job done. The Oilers have yet to name a starting goalie for Friday's Game 3, but it could go either way at this point, as they can't afford to fall into a 3-0 hole in the series with how leaky they've been at the back.

Skinner will patrol the crease on the road in Game 2 against Los Angeles on Wednesday, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner was shelled in Game 1 to the tune of six goals on 30 shots (.800 save percentage) in a losing effort to the Kings. Despite the tough performance, the 26-year-old netminder will get the start ahead of Calvin Pickard, who went 22-10-1 in his 36 regular-season outings. If Skinner stumbles again, his hold on the No. 1 job should probably be in doubt.

Skinner stopped 24 of 30 shots in Monday's 6-5 loss to the Kings in Game 1.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner had been fantastic against the Kings in the regular season, going 1-0-1 with a 1.95 GAA and a .932 save percentage, but that wasn't the case in this series opener. The 26-year-old netminder posted an .896 save percentage in 51 regular-season appearances, representing the lowest mark of his three full years in the league, and there's no question he'll need to bounce back in the upcoming games of the series to avoid putting all the pressure on the offense.

Skinner will start Monday's Game 1 on the road at the Kings, Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels reports.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner backstopped the Oilers on the way to the Stanley Cup Finals last season, and he is going to be the go-to goalie in this postseason run as well. Skinner missed nine of the team's final 11 games with a head injury, but started two of the final three games to try to get back up to speed. The good news for Edmonton is that the 26-year-old goaltender has been fantastic against the Kings this season, going 1-0-1 with a 1.95 GAA and a .932 save percentage.

Skinner posted an 18-save shutout in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Sharks.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner has allowed just one goal on 36 shots over two wins since returning from a head injury. The 26-year-old was sharp, and considering Calvin Pickard struggled versus the Kings on Monday, it could be Skinner who gets the first shot at claiming the No. 1 job in goal for the Oilers in the postseason. Skinner ends the regular season at 26-18-4 with a 2.81 GAA and an .896 save percentage, as well as three shutouts, over 51 appearances. Even if Skinner starts Game 1 versus the Kings, he's unlikely to have much leeway should his performance falter early in the series.

Skinner is set to start on the road against San Jose on Wednesday, Tony Brar of Oilers TV reports.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner stopped 17 of 18 shots en route to a 4-1 win over Winnipeg on Sunday. He has a 25-18-4 record, 2.87 GAA and .894 save percentage over 50 appearances in 2024-25. San Jose ranks 31st in the NHL in goals per game with 2.57.

Skinner stopped 17 of 18 shots in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
The Jets rested two defensemen and had three of their regular forwards out of the lineup as well. All said, Skinner turned in a good performance for his first game action since March 26, though he was not facing an opponent at full strength. The 26-year-old netminder is at a 25-18-4 record with a 2.87 GAA and an .894 save percentage over 50 appearances this season. Calvin Pickard will likely face the Kings on Monday, but Skinner could get another tune-up before the playoffs in Wednesday's regular-season finale in San Jose. At this time, it's not clear which goalie will be the Oilers' No. 1 entering the postseason.

Skinner will start in goal on the road versus the Jets on Sunday, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner returned in the backup role Friday versus the Sharks, and he'll get back between the pipes a game later. Calvin Pickard will likely draw the start in Monday's home matchup versus the Kings in the second half of Edmonton's back-to-back. Skinner was out for seven games due to a head injury, and before his absence, he was 4-3-0 with a 3.11 GAA and an .873 save percentage over nine games in March.

Skinner (head) will be available for Friday's home game against San Jose, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton.
EDGE Analysis
Goaltender Olivier Rodrigue was returned to AHL Bakersfield because Skinner is ready to return. The 26-year-old Skinner has a 24-18-4 record, 2.91 GAA and .894 save percentage in 49 appearances in 2024-25. Starting with Friday's clash, the Oilers will conclude the regular season with a busy stretch of four games in just six days, so it wouldn't be shocking if Skinner and Calvin Pickard evenly split that workload.

Skinner (head) will miss Wednesday's home clash against St. Louis, per Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton.
EDGE Analysis
Skinner was last in net March 26. He has a 24-18-4 record, 2.91 GAA and .894 save percentage in 49 appearances in 2024-25. Skinner has resumed skating and is feeling good, so he might be able to make his return for Friday's home game versus San Jose.
