Stamkos scored a power-play goal on eight shots, tacking on four PIM and two hits in Saturday's 5-2 loss to Florida.
EDGE Analysis
Stamkos has been a man amongst boys around the crease this season, but lately it's gotten comical. The 26-year-old has seven goals in his last seven outings (two power-play markers), not to mention he's notched points in five straight. With 26 shots on goal in that seven-game span, it's realistic to think Stamkos can reach 40 tallies for the fifth time in his career (36 to date).

Stamkos scored and assisted on Nikita Kucherov's power-play goal in Tuesday's 6-2 win against Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran center hasn't been performing up to his standards this season and seems likely to fall short of the 72 points he put up last season. Still, with Tuesday's points, he has a three-game point streak with eight over his last five games. Stamkos is still an elite player with the ability to put up points in bunches. With Tampa Bay fighting for the top spot in the Atlantic Division, expect Stamkos to continue to play well over the last few games of the regular season.

Stamkos voiced his displeasure with how his team is performing after they gave up a third-period lead in a loss to the Stars on Thursday night. "We can't let that fear of losing creep in at this time of year," said Stamkos. "We played like a fragile team that's scared to lose and not hungry to close out a game or hungry to win a game."
EDGE Analysis
He's been particularly vocal this week, just as a captain should be when his team needs a boost. Thursday was the team's fifth loss in its last six games and it dropped them to third in the Atlantic. There are 11 games to go for the Bolts and Stamkos may need to hoist the team on his back so they finish strong. They won't miss the postseason, but they won't last long when they get there if this overall malaise continues. Look for him to turn up the heat Saturday against Arizona to set a standard for his mates.

Stamkos buried his 32nd and 33rd goals of the year -- the first one on a power play -- in Thursday's 4-3 loss to Dallas.
EDGE Analysis
Stammer's had an odd last three games -- he's scored two goals twice, with a zero-point, minus-3 effort in between. The net result is good, but the inconsistency contributes to the school of thought that Stamkos might not be worth the super-sized contract he's likely to receive this offseason. By no means is he a disaster out there, but fantasy owners who paid a first-round price for Tampa's captain were looking for approximately point-per-game production. They haven't gotten it.

Stamkos skated to a minus-3 rating despite attempting three shots on goal and blocking two more in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Maple Leafs.
EDGE Analysis
Stamkos' ugly line is due in part to the Maple Leafs scoring twice with Tampa Bay's net empty, but that doesn't make his owners feel any better about the miserable performance in what promised to be a fruitful matchup. Still, the Lightning captain's three points and plus-3 rating in his previous outing suggest this clunker was just an aberration.

Stamkos potted a pair of goals and added an assist in Sunday's win over the Blue Jackets.
EDGE Analysis
Stamkos got the scoring started early in the second period, then later tallied a pair of shorthanded points to help put the contest out of reach. The Lightning captain had been held without a point in four straight coming into Sunday, but he appears to have snapped out of it, and once again topped the 30-goal plateau with his first marker in the win.

Stamkos registered a goal on three shots in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Senators.
EDGE Analysis
Stamkos has recorded points in seven of his last eight outings, totaling 10 in that span. The 26-year-old has been able to convert 16 shots at a 57 percent clip in that period, giving the former first-round pick 29 scores on the year. Stamkos isn't going to touch his career-high of 60, but every time the center takes the ice, you start him.

Stamkos scored for the sixth consecutive game Sunday in Tampa Bay's 4-1 win over Boston.
EDGE Analysis
He iced a penalty shot in the second to give him a team-leading 28 goals. Stamkos' game has taken off in the last few weeks. He's back to driving the net and is attacking on the forecheck. And his confidence is soaring. Hmmmm ... would it have anything to do with general manager Steve Yzerman's proclamation Stammer was staying put at the deadline? Stamkos is one game from equalling his career-longest goal streak and suddenly, 40 goals looks possible.

Stamkos scored his 27th goal of the season and added an assist in Friday's 4-0 win over the Devils.
EDGE Analysis
Make it five games in a row that Stammer has found twine -- a span in which he's surprisingly only fired nine shots on goal. By our calculation, that's an insane 55.5 shooting percentage over that stretch, which obviously isn't sustainable for even the gifted of snipers, but Stamkos can score with the best of them so it's not super shocking. Look for him to start shooting more (and scoring less, at least in terms of a percentage of his total shots on goal) but still end up close to 70 points come mid-April. To date, Tampa's captain has 49 points, a minus-2 rating and 170 SOG in 61 games this season.

Stamkos stretched his goal streak to four games with his 26th of the season in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Coyotes.
EDGE Analysis
Stamkos was Johnny on the spot to poke home a loose puck that was behind goalie Louis Domingue after a teammate hit the post. He has five points (four goals, one assist) on his current streak and is finally heating up after some quiet stretches of play. And Stammer's warm streak is carrying the Bolts -- they're looking more and more like Cup finalists again.
