As soon as the Blue Jackets activate one of their injured forwards from IR, Collins will more than likely head back to the minors.

With the Blue Jackets off until Saturday due to the holiday break, there wasn't much of a need to keep Collins on the 23-man roster. He had appeared in just two games for the Blue Jackets on the season.

Collins has been called up from AHL Springfield, the Columbus Dispatch reports. He takes Boone Jenner's spot on the roster. Collins was having a solid season in Springfield, scoring 10 goals and 19 points in 27 games, but he'll have a checking role in Columbus.
