Perunovich inked a one-year, two-way contract with Utah on Tuesday, Cole Bagley of KSL Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Perunovich played in just 35 combined games for the Blues and Islanders last year in which he notched two goals and seven helpers. A change of scenery should do the Minnesota native some good, though he may have to spend some time in the minors this season, given the two-way nature of his new deal.

Perunovich was not tendered a qualifying offer by the Islanders on Monday and will become an unrestricted free agent, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It looked like the Blues might have had something in Perunovich during his rookie season in 2023-24, when he posted 17 assists in 54 games. However, last year, he became a regular healthy scratch with the Blues, was traded to the Islanders and then ended the season as a regular healthy scratch in Long Island. Now, after being cut loose by New York, the 26-year-old will be looking for a new home in free agency to continue his career.

Perunovich played in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Capitals.
EDGE Analysis
Perunovich drew in for Alexander Romanov (illness) in the penultimate game of the season. The 26-year-old Perunovich had been scratched for the previous 23 contests. He's a pending restricted free agent heading into the summer, and it's unclear if the Islanders are interesting in keeping him around. He's produced nine points, 18 shots on net, 33 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 33 appearances between the Islanders and the Blues, but Perunovich's skill set was a bit redundant on a team that also rostered Tony DeAngelo and Adam Boqvist in the second half of the campaign.

Perunovich was scratched for the eighth straight game in Friday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Oilers.
EDGE Analysis
Perunovich played nine straight games and earned three assists after being traded to the Islanders from the Blues in late January. However, the Islanders' defense corps has gotten healthier since then -- only Adam Boqvist (upper body) is currently dealing with an injury. That still leaves eight healthy blueliners available, and it appears Perunovich is on the bottom rung of the ladder, with Scott Mayfield getting the first chance to replace Boqvist. Perunovich has nine points, 18 shots on net, 33 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating in 33 appearances this season. There's no guarantee he will play regularly down the final stretch.

Perunovich accounted for an even-strength assist, two PIM, one shot on goal, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in 24:39 of ice time in Saturday's 6-3 loss to Minnesota.
EDGE Analysis
Perunovich utilized his offensive ability when he single-handedly set up Anders Lee's 23rd goal of the season at 7:17 of the middle frame. Perunovich has earned three helpers over seven outings with the Islanders since being acquired in a trade from the Blues on Jan. 27. The left-shot blueliner's mobility has been a welcomed addition for a club that is riddled with injuries on the back end. Perunovich's 24:39 of ice time Saturday was a season high, and considering his power-play role on the second unit, the 26-year-old makes for a speculative add in formats that prioritize scoring -- he doesn't factor in much in categories such as hits, blocked shots and PIM.

Perunovich notched an assist, two shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Avalanche.
EDGE Analysis
Perunovich has a chance at a fresh start after exhausting his opportunities with the Blues, which resulted in him being traded to the defense-needy Islanders. His tenure with his new team is off to a positive start -- he logged 18:52 of ice time in a third-pairing role in his team debut. Perunovich should play regularly while Noah Dobson (lower body) and Ryan Pulock (upper body) are out. Perunovich has seven points, 11 shots on net, 22 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating over 25 appearances this season.

Perunovich was brought in via trade by the Islanders on Monday from the Blues in exchange for a 2026 conditional fifth-round pick.
EDGE Analysis
Perunovich's acquisition comes on the heels of both Noah Dobson (lower body) and Ryan Pulock (upper body) going on injured reserve over the last week. The Isles already attempted to bolster their blue line by bringing in Tony DeAngelo but now also have Perunovich as a seventh healthy option. The 26-year-old defenseman had been struggling to get into the lineup for the Blues, serving as a healthy scratch in 13 of the club's last 15 contests. That doesn't seem likely to change with the Islanders, though Perunovich could challenge Dennis Cholowskifor minutes.

Perunovich suited up for the first time in five games in Friday's 4-0 win over the Senators.
EDGE Analysis
Perunovich was scratched seven times in 14 games in December. Justin Faulk (undisclosed) was unavailable Friday, allowing Perunovich to draw in on the third pairing. He has gone seven games without a point, so he hasn't helped his cause to stick in the lineup. Perunovich has two goals, four helpers, nine shots on net, 21 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating through 23 appearances this season.

Perunovich posted two assists and went plus-3 in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
Perunovich was scratched Saturday versus the Flyers, but he got back into the lineup due to the absence of Justin Faulk (upper body). This was one of Perunovich's better efforts of the season, though he also saw just 11:10 of ice time in a third-pairing role. He's up to two goals, six points, five shots on net, 18 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over 16 appearances. The lack of ice time is a concern, and if that doesn't improve, his fantasy appeal will be limited to deeper formats.

Perunovich scored a goal in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Wild.
EDGE Analysis
Perunovich has taken advantage of steadier playing time, earning three points over his last six games while filling a top-four role with some power-play time. The 26-year-old blueliner was held off the scoresheet in his first five appearances this season, so it's good to see him make some progress on offense. Overall, he has two goals, one assist, five shots on net, 16 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating across 11 outings.
