The 33-year-old center is now at one goal, four assists, 20 shots on net, 15 hits, eight blocked shots, 10 PIM and a plus-4 rating through 11 appearances. He has rarely produced much more than one shot per game, but if he keeps putting the puck on net, he could challenge his career-high 20-point effort from last season.

Carrick had a strong performance Saturday that he kicked off with a shorthanded assist on Mika Zibanejad's opening goal. Carrick then provided a secondary helper on Matt Rempe's goal later in the contest. The 33-year-old Carrick has three assists in as many contests this year and is currently on the best pace offensively of his 10-year career. He will likely slow down at some point, but if Carrick can maintain a fraction of this pace, his potential for 100-plus hits should give him some play in banger leagues.

Carrick has filled a fourth-line role to begin the season, keeping Juuso Parssinen and Jonny Brodzinski in the press box. The 33-year-old Carrick is a defensive center, so his contributions aren't likely to be of much help in fantasy. He had a career-high 20 points with 137 hits and 58 PIM over 80 regular-season outings in 2024-25, and that level of production is likely a best-case scenario for the remainder of his career. However, it's a positive that he's been playing fairly well after missing a few days due to a lower-body injury during the preseason.
