Currently pairing with rookie phenom Cale Makar, Graves looks like a key cog on the Avalanche's blue line for years to come.

Graves continues to be an intriguing fantasy asset for deeper leagues that flies under the radar on a team with superstar forwards and rookie phenom Cale Makar on his pairing. The 24-year-old Graves has accrued a modest 20 points, leads the league with a plus-36 rating and has recorded 110 blocked shots over 50 games.

Graves scored a goal on five shots, dished an assist, tossed three hits, blocked three shots and went plus-2 in Monday's 6-3 win over the Red Wings.

Graves made his mark in a number of ways all over the ice Monday. His assist came on Matt Nieto's game-winning goal, and he added an insurance tally 8:47 after that. Graves is now at 19 points, 97 shots, 96 blocks and a plus-34 rating in 48 games. He's picked up the pace with four points in his last four outings after a nine-game drought.

Graves scored a goal on four shots in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Sharks.

Graves now has points in consecutive outings after a nine-game drought. The 24-year-old defenseman is up to 17 points, a plus-31 rating and 89 shots on goal in 46 games. He's been plenty physical as well, with 90 blocked shots, 76 hits and 35 PIM this season. Bottom line -- he's a solid contributor on the blue line despite seeing virtually no power-play time.

In his last 10 games, Graves has 25 shots on goal, 21 hits and 15 blocked shots to go with the assist he earned Tuesday. He's at 16 points, 90 blocks, 85 shots, 76 hits and a plus-30 rating in 45 contests this season. He's almost always to contribute something to fantasy owners, but his 13 points over 28 appearances in November and December might be a little too good to sustain for the 24-year-old.

Graves has zero points but a plus-5 rating and 24 shots on net in his last nine games.

The 24-year-old recorded a multi-point game on Dec. 21 but he hasn't tallied another point since then. He's been involved plenty, though, as he's averaged almost three shots on net per game in the past nine matchups and posted seven in one contest on Dec. 28. Graves has six goals, 15 points, a plus-29 rating, 84 shots and 35 PIM in 44 games this season.

This is Graves' first five-game pointless streak since just before Thanksgiving. Despite the scoring struggles lately, Graves has four goals and nine points in the last 18 games, but his value goes beyond those numbers, as he also has a plus-20 rating and 15 PIM during that stretch. Graves has six goals, 15 points, plus-29 rating, 33 PIM, 78 shots, 82 blocks and 68 hits in 40 games this season.

Graves scored a goal and supplied an assist in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Blackhawks.

Graves opened the scoring six minutes into the first period, and set up Matt Calvert's goal to restore the lead early in the second. The defenseman filled the stat sheet with four hits, three shots on goal, two PIM and a plus-2 rating. Graves has been a pleasant surprise with 15 points, 60 shots, 75 blocked shots, 55 hits and a plus-24 rating through 35 games this season. With solid contributions across virtually all categories excluding power-play production, the 24-year-old defenseman is certainly worthy of a look from fantasy owners.

Graves has three goals and seven points with a plus-13 rating in the last 12 games, but he only has one assist in the past five contests.

EDGE Analysis

Prior to Thanksgiving week, Graves had a six-game pointless streak. While he's been very productive since then, he's gone mostly dry in the last handful of contests. That's been a theme for Graves this season, as he's had some tremendous hot and cold streaks already in 2019-20. Overall, though, owners have to be pleased with his five scores, 13 points and plus-22 rating in 34 games this season.
