The Canucks intend to make Kenins an emergency call-up ahead of Thursday's road match against the Flames.
EDGE Analysis
Jared McCann (undisclosed) reportedly will not play Thursday, leaving Kenins as the likely replacement. The Latvian is lauded for his two-way skills. He's produced 12 points in 36 games with AHL Utica this season, but has been held off the scoresheet in six games with the Canucks.

EDGE Analysis
With Sven Baertschi (upper body) and Brandon Prust (leg) both expected to return to action Wednesday against Carolina, the Canucks are on longer in need of Kenins' services as a depth forward. Kenins was recalled from AHL Utica on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Kenins's recall comes after he was sent down on Thursday, and likely coincided with the fact that Derek Dorsett missed Saturday's practice for personal reasons. Dorsett now looks likely to play Sunday, though, so Kenins may see himself back in Utica in the near future.

Kenins was reassigned to AHL Utica on Thursday.

Kenins played in two games during his most-recent stay with the big club, tallying two shots on goal and nine hits in those contests. His demotion may indicate that Jake Virtanen (hip) is on the verge of returning to action.

Kenins was recalled from AHL Utica on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
This will be Kenins's first time with the big club since playing 30 games for Vancouver in 2014-15. The 24-year old Latvian skates well and is a physical player, making him an effective bottom-six forward. Kenins has also shown some touch around the net, as he scoried 12 points in last year's stint.

Kenins signed a one-year, one-way contract with the Canucks on Monday, Brad Ziemer of the Vancouver Sun reports. The Canucks are apparently satisfied with making Kenins a permanent fixture in their lineup, as the one-way nature of the deal means he would have to go through waivers if Vancouver decided to assign him to their AHL affiliate at any point next season. He's still recovering from a knee injury he suffered in the Canucks' opening round series against the Flames, but should be ready for the start of training camp in September. Kenins was a valuable fourth line contributor after being called up by the Canucks in late January. He finished the season with four goals and eight assists for a total of 12 points in 30 games. He'll likely return to his role as a fourth line winger in 2015-16.

Kenins suffered a knee injury during the playoffs and will be out 4-to-6 weeks, Irfaan Gaffar of Sportsnet reports. Called up by the Canucks in late January, Kenins earned an extended stay with the parent club through his quality work as a member of the fourth line. He finished the regular season with four goals and 12 points in 30 games, and skated in five of Canucks' six postseason contests before the injury set in. Kenins should be fully recovered for the start of training camp, where he'll look to solidify himself as a regular again in the Canucks' bottom-six ranks.

Kenins will be a healthy scratch for Game 6 against the Flames on Saturday, Mark Spector of Sportsnet.ca reports. Kenins took the ice in the first five games of the series but didn't cut the mustard for Game 6. At this point his status for a potential Game 7 will be unknown until pregame warmups Monday.

Kenins scored his fourth goal of the season in Thursday's win over Arizona. It was the first goal in 22 games for the fourth-liner, who has slowed down after a hot start to his NHL career. He logged 13:12 of ice time Thursday, but has managed just two points in his last 15 games. The 24-year-old rookie is a promising depth scorer, but with just 12 points (four goals) in 29 games, his short-term fantasy value is limited.

Kenins picked up a pair of assists and was a plus-2 in Sunday's win over the Blues. Kenins continues to impress in his first NHL stint, recording three goals and 10 points in 14 games. While the 24-year-old is skating on the fourth line, he's playing with the talented Bo Horvat and can produce enough to warrant a look in some very deep leagues.
