Roman Horak has four points in his last two games. Horak had an assist in his first five NHL contests, but now he's enjoying his first career hot streak. We don't expect him to compete for the Calder Trophy, but he should get about 40 points this season.

Roman Horak posted a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win over St. Louis. Horak is one of the few youngsters who has top six potential in the Flames organization, and it has been on display in the early going, posting five points in seven games. He will likely put up 40-45 points this season, but the potential to be a steady contributor is definitely there.

Twenty-year-old Roman Horak has been impressing his teammates with his play and effort. Horak was acquired in the deal that sent Tim Erixon to the Rangers and it was thought that the young Czech would need time in the minors. But he has surprised most with his skill and work ethic. "He wants to learn," Alex Tanguay said. "I know he's very excited to be in the NHL. Once you get your foot in the door, you don't want to let go. You want to walk right in. That's what he's trying to do. He's doing good." Horak has enough talent to hit the 35-40 point mark this season and even more in the future. Keep your eye on him.

Roman Horak was a healthy scratch on Thursday. It was a bit of a surprise as the Flames played the Rangers, the team Horak was dealt from in the off-season as many would have figured Horak had something to prove against the organization that drafted him in 2009. In any event, he was a healthy scratch and will look to get back in the lineup on the weekend. He has no fantasy value at this time.

Roman Horak won half of his 16 faceoffs in his NHL debut on Saturday. "It's way harder than juniors," Horak said. "Guys are bigger, stronger. Faceoffs are important. Faceoffs are a battle and you have to adjust a bit. I still need to learn. Hopefully, I get better with time." Horak was limited to 20 shifts, but nine of them were in the final 20 minutes. He also registered his first assist midway through the third period.

Roman Horak registered an assist on the second goal, his first point in his NHL debut Saturday night. Horak, who was selected in the fifth round of the 2009 NHL entry draft, could end up with 30-40 points if he plays a full 82 games with Calgary this season.

It looks like Roman Horak will be part of the Calgary Flames' opening game lineup. Horak is tentatively projected to play on a line with Rene Bourque and Lee Stempniak. Horak could end up with 30-40 points if he plays a full 82 games with Calgary this season. It's worth noting that prospect Tim Erixon refused to sign with the Flames over the summer because he felt that Calgary wouldn't give him a fair shot at a roster spot. As a result, Calgary traded Erixon to the New York Rangers for Horak, who was selected in the fifth round of the 2009 NHL entry draft. Now Horak has made the Flames roster while the more highly regarded Erixon is projected to start the season in the minors.

Roman Horak has survived the Calgary Flames' cuts so far and he has a real shot of making the opening game roster. Calgary acquired Horak from the New York Rangers in June in exchange for prospect Tim Erixon, who refused to sign with Calgary. Horak was solid in Tuesday's contest, finishing the game with a plus-one rating in 16:21 minutes of ice time. "I thought Roman was very good again," coach Brent Sutter said. "He's a heady player. He's a smart player. He understands the ice and understands positioning very well. He's obviously got skill and some hands to go with it. He was certainly very noticeable tonight in a lot of different ways." If he does manage to make the team, it would be quite an accomplishment for Horak, who was selected in the fifth round of the 2009 entry draft and is trying to make the jump from the WHL level.
