O'Gara accepted his qualifying offer from the Rangers for the 2018-19 season Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
O'Gara was brought to New York as part of the Nick Holden trade with the Bruins last season. He would score just three points in 22 games to close out the 2018 season with the Rangers but was still able to keep steady playing time. Heading into next year, the 25-year-old blueliner should stay in a relatively unproductive, bottom-pair role.

O'Gara has received a qualifying offer from the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
O'Gara came over from the Bruins at the trade deadline and ended up playing in the final 22 games for New York, logging three assists without a goal. The 24-year-old blueliner has good size at 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, but his lack of skill makes O'Gara more of an organizational depth piece.

O'Gara played in eight games for Boston and 22 for the Rangers, notching three points in 2017-18.
EDGE Analysis
The three assists were O'Gara's first NHL points and all came after he was dealt to New York on Feb. 20, and he also played in 43 games in the minors for AHL Providence prior, posting eight points (two goals, six assists) in 43 games. The 24-year-old certainly wasn't eased into the blue line either with the Rangers, as he averaged 17:09 of ice time per game while receiving more defensive zone starts than offensive, although his role was really only open because of the Ryan McDonagh trade and Kevin Shattenkirk's knee injury. O'Gara will be a restricted free agent so it's unclear if he'll return to the Rangers, but if he does, he could find a starting role on the young defensive group.

O'Gara recorded an assist and four shots in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
O'Gara's helper was his second point in 14 games with the Rangers. He had failed to get on the scoresheet in 11 career appearances for Boston prior to getting dealt along with a third-round pick for fellow blueliner Nick Holden just before the late-February trade deadline. The 2011 fifth-rounder's offensive game is unlikely to ever progress to the point of relevance in most fantasy settings, but his skills in his own zone could still lead to a prosperous NHL career.

O'Gara and a 2018 third-round draft pick were shipped off to the Rangers on Tuesday in return for Nick Holden.
EDGE Analysis
O'Gara was being buried on the defensive depth chart in Boston and saw action in just eight games for the big club, putting up no points and a minus-5 rating while averaging 10:59 of ice time. The New York native will get a new start in his home state and perhaps the change in scenery will help his development, though he'll likely begin his time with the organization in Hartford at the AHL level.

O'Gara was sent down to AHL Providence on Saturday, TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The imposing defenseman was on hand with Torey Krug missing three games due to an upper-body ailment, but Krug has since returned. Not much has been expected of O'Gara from a fantasy standpoint, with the New York native posting a minus-5 rating and still hunting for his first NHL point through 11 games since hitting the big stage last season.

O'Gara was recalled from AHL Providence on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
The Yale product is a big, physical defenseman who plays a stay-at-home style. Now in his third full-season as a professional, O'Gara is scoreless in four NHL games and has logged 16 points in 71 minor-league contests. It's unclear whether or not the Bruins intend on inserting O'Gara in to the lineup for Monday's tilt against Minnesota or if he'll serve as the team's seventh defenseman, but either way, he isn't a viable fantasy option.

O'Gara has been sent to AHL Providence.
EDGE Analysis
O'Gara logged 14:17 worth of ice time in Saturday's loss to Buffalo, with his assignment to Providence possibly an indicator that Kevan Miller is nearing a return in advance of Thursday's game against the Sharks.

O'Gara was recalled from AHL Providence on Saturday, Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
With fellow defenseman Kevan Miller (knee) no lock to play in Saturday's game, O'Gara will be on hand as an insurance option. The New York native was a standout at Yale from 2012-16, but he's only drawn into three NHL contests with the B's to date. From a fantasy standpoint, it's difficult to trust an inexperienced player whose level of playing time largely depends on the health of others.

O'Gara was assigned to AHL Providence on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old blueliner was in a matchup with Matt Grzelcyk for a defensive spot in the absence of Torey Krug (face). O'Gara ended up with the short end of the stick, though, as he was sent back to minors. Seeing as he wasn't auditioning for a full-time role, it's better that O'Gara can head back to the AHL now and continue to develop for his next opportunity.
