"I thought Klink was really good, really solid, big heavy guy on the forecheck," Tippett said. "He came to play hard (Thursday), and that's what our group has to do - feed off each line. They go out there and make sure we compete our hardest, make sure they're on the right side of the puck, little things right and we'll find a way to get points." The Coyotes lost the Thursday game in a shootout to the Colorado Avalanche. On the season, Klinkhammer has nine goals and nine assists in 56 games.

Rob Klinkhammer has only two goals and three points in the Coyotes last 27 games. That includes being a healthy scratch for four games but he got off to a great start with seven goals and 14 points in his first 31 contests so he does have some scoring ability at the NHL level. "I think I really needed it just to get away and reflect," Klinkhammer said. "I thought a lot a about my game and what I need to change and stuff. I think it was a good break for me, and I think I'll turn things around in the second half here."

Rob Klinkhammer will get married during the Olympic break. His best man will be Blackhawks forward Kris Versteeg. "You don't get a couple weeks off in the middle of the season often, so we (he and fianc‚e Jessica) just thought it'd be a good idea," Klinkhammer said. "We love it down here. It's kind of like home now. Just thought it'd be a cool wedding to have in the desert." Congratulations to both on the upcoming nuptials. Klinkhammer has nine goals and 17 points with a plus-seven rating this season.

Mikkel Boedker also scored twice in the game, while defenseman Keith Yandle had a goal and an assist for the Coyotes. Mike Ribeiro also had a strong game with a goal and two assists.

Rob Klinkhammer had a goal in Phoenix's 4-3 OT loss to Ottawa Tuesday night. Klinkhammer scored his third goal in two games for the Coyotes and he was promoted to the first line on Tuesday. He now has a 23.1 shooting percentage and he is on his way to breaking his scoring record from last season. Mike Ribeiro and Radim Vrbata also tallied for the Coyotes while Antoine Vermette assisted two goals.

He is a bottom-six forward so it's a nice streak for the 27-year-old who now has four points this season. He had 11 points in 22 games for the Coyotes in 2013 and finally signed a one-way contract in the off-season. He has little fantasy value but games like Sunday give his possible fantasy owners some food for thought.

Rob Klinkhammer signed a two-year, $1.25 million contract with the Coyotes. Klinkhammer is coming off a one-year, two-way deal worth $650,000. The upside for him now is some job security on a one-way contract. He had five goals and 11 points in 22 NHL games, and he notched 44 points in 55 AHL games this season.
