Rob Blake will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Blake was a tremendous offensive defenseman that stayed effective until his retirement following the 2009-10 campaign. He had 240 goals and 777 points in 1,270 games with the Los Angeles Kings, Colorado Avalanche, and San Jose Sharks. After losing in the 1993 Stanley Cup Final, he won the championship with Colorado in 2001. He also claimed the Norris Trophy in 1998.

Los Angeles Kings hire Rob Blake as new assistant general manager.
Blake replaced Ron Hextall, who left to take a similar position with the Flyers. Blake spent 14 seasons with the Kings and won the Norris Trophy as the league's best defenseman in 1997-98. Blake had been working in the NHL's department of player safety under Brendan Shanahan.
