The Blue Jackets will find out whether they land the first overall pick in the 2012 NHL Draft on Tuesday night.
The draft lottery will take place at 8 p.m. EST and Columbus has a 48.2 percent chance of claiming the No. 1 spot. It finished with a league-worst 65 points. "You always want to control the draft," said Blue Jackets general manager Scott Howson. "It means a lot. It's not going to be the end of the world if we don't get it. There are good players there; we just have to make sure we get the right one. But it'll be disappointing if we don't get it." The Jackets have never had higher than the third pick, which they traded up for in 2002 to take Rick Nash.

Rick Nash scored a goal in Columbus' 7-3 victory over the New York Islanders on Saturday night.
Rick Nash quietly put up 30 goals this season amidst a storm of controversy in Columbus. Only time will tell where Rick Nash ends up next season, but for now Nash remains a Columbus Blue Jacket. Despite putting up decent numbers in Columbus, Nash seems destined to play elsewhere next season.

The injury Rick Nash sustained on Thursday is related to his back.
Nash missed the third period as a result of the ailment and is questionable for Saturday's contest. "We haven't ruled him out completely," Blue Jackets GM Scott Howson said. "It'll be decided Saturday morning." Nash requested to be dealt prior to the trade deadline, but Columbus didn't get an offer they liked. They are likely to trade him over the summer.

Rick Nash may have played his last game for the Columbus Blue Jackets after suffering an undisclosed injury Thursday.
Nash did not return for the third stanza and may not be able to play on Saturday in the season finale. All rumors indicate he wants a trade out of the Ohio capital in the off-season so if he is unable to go Saturday, it may have been the last time he has donned a Columbus uniform in a game.

Rick Nash potted a goal and also registered an assist in the Blue Jackets' 7-2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings Monday night.
He might be hidden in Columbus, but Nash is still one of the best in the game. However, with 27 goals and 52 points to go with a minus-22 on the season, the power forward has been once again a fantasy disappointment in 2011-12.

Columbus Blue Jackets lame duck captain Rick Nash broke out of his slump with something familiar: a solid point producing output in a convincing defeat.
Nash had his best outing since a three-point game on March 3, scoring a goal and an assist while throwing 12 pucks at the net - eight of which became shots on goal. He also had two penalty minutes and managed an even rating in a 6-3 loss to the Edmonton Oilers.

Rick Nash has just one point in his last nine contests.
Given that the Blue Jackets have nothing left to play for and Nash wanted to be dealt before the trade deadline, we aren't confident that Nash will bounce back. Of course, his current slump will hurt his trade value a bit during the summer, but it might also provide the Blue Jackets with further incentive to shop him.

Coach Todd Richards switched lines in the third period Tuesday and put Cam Atkinson on the top line and moved Rick Nash to the second unit.
Nash will play on Friday with Mark Letestu and Vaclav Prospal while Atkinson will skate with Derick Brassard and R.J. Umberger. "We'll keep it that way again," Richards said. "I thought in the third period we had some improvement from both lines. We'll see how that goes."
