Aberg has signed a contract with Timra IK of the SHL, Murray Pam of FullHockeyPress.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Aberg evidently wasn't happy with his role in the Senators' organization, so he had his contract with Ottawa terminated Sunday before signing a contract with Timra IK in his native Sweden on Tuesday. The 28-year-old winger could remain overseas for the remainder of his career.

EDGE Analysis
Aberg plans on signing with a European team after his contract with the Senators is officially terminated. The 28-year-old forward may spend the rest of his playing career overseas. If that ends up being the case, he'll finish his NHL playing days having totaled 17 goals and 44 points in 132 career appearances.

EDGE Analysis
Aberg spent last season in the KHL before joining the Senators this offseason, tallying 23 points in 49 games. The 28-year-old winger could split time between the AHL and NHL levels this season.

Aberg agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way deal with Ottawa on Thursday, Sportsnet's Chris Johnston reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despite Pittsburgh owning his rights, Aberg signed with KHL club Chelyabinsk for the 2020-21 campaign. It appears that move was the right one, as the winger racked up 10 goals and 13 helpers in 49 appearances and will now be making his way back to North America. While it's a two-way deal for Aberg, he should at least get the opportunity to make the Opening Night roster in training camp.

Aberg was brought in by the Penguins from the Maple Leafs on Tuesday, in addition to Kasperi Kapanen and Jesper Lindgren, in exchange for Evan Rodrigues, David Warsofsky, Filip Hallander and a 2020 first-round draft selection.
EDGE Analysis
Aberg agreed to terms with KHL club Traktor Chelyabinsk in July of 2020, though the agreement could include an NHL out clause that would allow the winger to rejoin the team ahead of the 2020-21 campaign. The Swede will need a new contract if he is going to play for Pittsburgh next year, as he is set to become a restricted free agent this offseason. At a minimum, the Pens figure to hand Aberg a qualifying offer to retain his rights.

Aberg agreed to terms on a one-year deal with KHL team Traktor Chelyabinsk on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Aberg put up solid numbers in the minors with 20 goals and 24 helpers in 55 appearances but was only able to crack the Leafs' lineup five times this season. Despite Aberg signing overseas, the club will likely give him a qualifying offer this offseason in order to retain his rights.

The Maple Leafs sent Aberg back to AHL Toronto on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Aberg drew into two games for the Leafs during his brief stint with the team but averaged just 6:41 of ice time between them and compiled only a pair of shots and a hit. The fringe winger will rejoin his AHL mates and await his next opportunity at the top level.

The Maple Leafs recalled Aberg from AHL Toronto on Monday, Lance Hornby of The Toronto Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old Aberg continues to dominate the AHL ranks, as he's racked up 38 points over 43 games -- the best on the team. With the flu bug making its rounds in the locker room, Aberg will add necessary depth ahead of Tuesday's game versus the Coyotes.

The Maple Leafs reassigned Aberg to AHL Toronto on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Aberg played three games with the big club and even earned time on the top line with Auston Matthews, but he managed just one assist and two shots on net. The 26-year-old will return to the minors, where he has accrued 24 points in 22 games.

The Maple Leafs promoted Aberg from AHL Toronto on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Toronto placed Andreas Johnsson (leg) on long-term injured reserve in a corresponding move, so Aberg is likely in for an extended stay with the parent club. The 26-year-old winger has racked up 10 goals and 24 points in 22 minor-league appearances this season.
