Paul Ranger has accepted a two-year deal with a Swiss club.
Ranger played in his first NHL game in nearly three years on Oct. 1 and went on to record 14 points and 36 penalty minutes in 53 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He's only 29 (30 in September), so we wouldn't dismiss the possibility of him making yet another NHL comeback down the road.

Paul Ranger is battling the flu.
Ranger was left behind when the team went from Tampa Bay to Sunrise, Florida, but he will rejoin the team on Thursday. In other words, there's still a chance that he'll play in Thursday night's game.

Paul Ranger remains day-to-day with a neck injury.
There was some talk that he might play Friday night against the Flyers but he did not dress in the Maple Leafs' 4-2 loss. He is still a possibility for Saturday's contest against Detroit but we wouldn't fret about it. Even at his best, Ranger is not a fantasy asset.

Paul Ranger (neck) may be available to play Friday in Philadelphia.
"I'm not sure yet," Ranger said. "I feel pretty good but I have to talk to the trainers and the doctors and see if they clear me to play. (It will be) a combined decision (on Friday). If I can help in any way I am going to, and I plan on it." The Leafs have dressed seven defensemen several times before this season, so that could be an option if Ranger is ready to return.
