Meloche was released from his professional tryout with the Blue Jackets on Friday, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.

He'll likely see a more advanced role until the Sharks can get some of their numerous injured rearguards back.

Meloche (undisclosed) will suit up Sunday against the Kraken, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports.
