Leddy tallied a power-play assist Sunday in a 2-1 win over Carolina.

EDGE Analysis

It took 10 games for Leddy to record his first point of the campaign. Coming off three consecutive seasons with 30 or more points, the Islanders' blueliner has gotten off to a painfully slow start in 2018-19 but he'll look to build off this performance Tuesday when New York takes on the Penguins.

Leddy has once again been paired with Johnny Boychuk, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.

EDGE Analysis

Leddy and Boychuk were paired together more often than not under former head coach Doug Weight, but current head coach Barry Trotz had separated the duo for the first two games this season. In practice Sunday Leddy and Boychuk were back together and that isn't expected to change Monday afternoon when the Islanders take on the Sharks.

Leddy had a team and league worst minus-42 rating this past season.

EDGE Analysis

Leddy is a talented skater who excels at carrying the puck out of the offensive zone, but his lack of defensive awareness hurt the Islanders this season. Leddy had 10 goals and 32 assists, but at $5.5 million per season the Islanders will need him to pick up his play dramatically in the defensive zone if he is to remain a top pair defender. The emergence of Ryan Pulock could also see Leddy lose time on the power play next season depending upon how coach Doug Weight runs that unit.

Leddy (undisclosed) will be active for Friday's home tilt against the Maple Leafs, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.

EDGE Analysis

The Islanders are completely out of the playoff hunt, but Leddy should still be able to help out fantasy owners for the balance of the regular season. He's up to 10 goals and 31 helpers for his third straight campaign of notching at least 40 points.

Leddy is "a little banged up," according to Islanders coach Doug Weight. As a result, the defenseman won't be available for Tuesday's game against the Senators.

EDGE Analysis

This does not sound like a serious issue, but the Isles have officially been eliminated from playoff contention and therefore have every reason to play it safe with Leddy's issue. Johnny Boychuk (undisclosed) reportedly will be out as well, so we'd expect a leaky defense from the Isles in this road contest.

Leddy has the second worst plus/minus rating in the NHL at minus-33.

EDGE Analysis

Only Oliver Ekman-Larsson of the Coyotes is worse at minus-35. Leddy is an excellent skater who excels at carrying the puck out of his zone but his issues on defense have likely hurt more than helped the team this season. He hasn't scored since Feb. 9 versus Detroit (12 games), but does have five assists during that span.

Leddy dished out two assists -- one on the power play -- to go with three shots in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Rangers.

EDGE Analysis

Leddy's picked things back up of late, playing at a point-per-game pace over the past seven after recording just five points over the previous 24. Owners should remain wary despite Leddy's recent resurgence, as he still sports an atrocious minus-30 rating to go with nine goals and 27 assists in 59 games.

Leddy has been struggling of late with only one point in his last nine games.

EDGE Analysis

Earlier this season, Leddy was touted as a possible Norris Trophy candidate, but those thoughts are long gone. His offensive numbers (six goals and 23 assists) are respectable, but an unsightly minus-21 rating will take away any consideration he might have had for the award. Leddy may be longing for the steady defensive presence of Johnny Boychuk (lower body), who has missed the last 13 games. Boychuk could play as soon as Tuesday versus Florida, so perhaps the return of his normal partner will make Leddy more comfortable in his own zone. Leddy is still the best offensive defenseman the Islanders have, and he's the only one capable of skating the puck out of his own zone on a consistent basis. The Isles will need him to play a more defensively responsible game, however, if they want to make a playoff push this season.

Leddy produced a pair of assists in Thursday's 6-4 road loss to the Flyers.

EDGE Analysis

Leddy possess terrific on-ice awareness, which explains how he has six goals and 22 helpers this season. However, the minus-14 rating next to his name is a bit of a drag for the fleeting number of owners participating in leagues that use that fantasy metric.

Leddy has now gone five straight games without registering a point.

EDGE Analysis

What's probably more concerning to the Islanders is that Leddy is also a minus-5 during this stretch. It's a long season and overall Leddy has been playing very well, even mentioned as a Norris Trophy candidate by some. Leddy still anchors the Isles top defensive pair and is their only defender who can skate the puck out of the defensive zone and lead a rush. He may be slumping at this point in time but it shouldn't be long before he snaps out of it.
